What should I do to use the usbnetwork without the USB data cable?

I remember that the usbnetwork for K4 is enable to SSH to kindle without USB data cable,
Does it can work in paperwhite?

It does work in paperwhite..

You have to:

1. connect your kindle to a wifi access point
2. connect your pc to same network
3. enable USBnetwork through it's kual menu("Toggle USBnetwork")
4. enable SSH over Wifi in USBnetwork kual menu
5. get the kindle's I.P address (enter ";711" in search box)
6. connect from your pc to kindle through a SFTP client
7. copy your document/book from pc to kindle(/mnt/us/documents)

Personally, i find this a hassle.. more comfortable with connecting a usb cable..

Geekmaster reported that the lifetime (by number of insertions) for the micro-usb connector is much higher than that of the full sized USB connector.

Even so, I know that some people just leave a short length micro-USB to USB cable plugged into the Kindle and then use a USB extension cable.

For myself -
I just leave the USB cable plugged into the Kindle, with USBnetwork running.
That way I can transfer files, list files, and have telnet/ssh/scp access while the Kindle is in 'normal' use.

keeping a usb cable permanently attached to the kindle doesn't work for me..
i cart it around between home and work.. and also read in bed.. (that's one of the original purposes, right?)

in fact, i prefer to handle gadgets in their original state.. without scratch guards, covers and other paraphernalia.. i keep my PW in a padded pouch..

but i suppose usb port wear out is an issue for those who do frequent transfers.. was just wondering.. would it be possible to make the "experimental" browser access thru wifi, a ftp server running on a PC connected to the same network..?

The 'normal' default route on the Kindle **is** the wireless connection.

It is just the USB networking cable that needs some TLC to make it the default route.

I did not try to propose a solution 'for everybody' - just mentioned what some people do.

The micro-USB connector was designed with these past failings in mind and has a rated lifetime of about 10,000 insertion cycles. This despite its apparent frailty and what may appear to be a less robust design.

Got a Question about SSH shared Keys. I dont know what I'm doing wrong.
I just want do connect SSH/SSHFS as root@kindle without entering a password.

This is what I tryed:

You have a number of newbie mistakes there.
Including how you wiped out your system's default key pair.
