It's why I constantly add to the tally--I live in fear of running out of reading material.

I never know what I'll feel like reading next, so having my entire collection available for me to "DJ" on the fly is amazing and wonderful and it's something I've wanted all my life.

I would rather have more books with me than I can read, as opposed to the alternative.

I use Calibre to add the series information to the metadata and simply search on author, title or series depending on what I am looking for which, for me, made the shelves mostly redundant.

The one thing that I would find really useful when looking for something to read next is to be able to browse a list of authors that I have on the device. I tend to 'sort by author' when browsing the library anyway, but having to scroll past several pages of one prolific author to get to the next one is a real pain.

You could make a list of books on your reader sorted by Author maybe with short synopsis for each book. Then turn it into Epub and load onto your reader. Might be an easy way to do this with Calibre.

Scoob,

You could use Calibre to build Author Shelves and just select shelves, browse through for the author you want and then browse that shelf for a title.

If you follow the sticky guide at the top of the forum it's not hard to build shelves, though you may find yourself reading through the process more than once. If you want to build them by Author it's quick to sort by clicking the author column in Calibre, select all their books which would be grouped together and then edit the metadata for the whole selection by typing the Author's name into the shelf field once. Poof, Calibre changes the metadata for all of that author's titles and you go to the next one. You'd probably be done pretty quickly if you have a lot of titles per author. You can also do series and series indexes, a nice way to keep titles in the order you'll want to read them.

You certainly fall into the category of exceptional people.
