Glulxe Interactive Fiction interpreter compiled for Kindle PW (via KTerm)

Following the guidelines posted here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=186007 I was able to compile the Glulxe 0.5.1 interactive fiction interpreter (http://www.eblong.com/zarf/glulx/) for the Kindle Paperwhite.

It needs KTerm to run. (http://www.fabiszewski.net/kindle-terminal/)

Update 1: Optimized build options for Kindle.

As extension. (The top post is just the executable)

This KUAL package attached here includes:

Example IF file.
IF selection system.
Kterm integration scripts.
Folder structure.

Tested on Paperwhite And Kindle Touch

Enjoy.

If Frotz has been installed earlier, 'dialog' executable is already present in /mnt/us/bin.. so can just modify scripts here to point to that..
'if' directory may still need to be separate..

You are of course correct.

But it's minimally tiny. So.... I actually don't mind having two copies.
Better safe than sorry.

Ah - - -

You will find a lot of that old 'put it anywhere' among the hacks.
It should be in /mnt/us/extensions/system/bin

But **extremely few** add-ins have been change to support the 'KUAL system' layout.
You will see more effort on that front during the coming months.

yup. in fact this exact copy of dialog is in kual-system already as KNC1 correctly points out.

better to be safe than sorry

Some games - apparently these with graphics "crash" with a message "Glk library error: image_draw: graphics not.." (the full text is not visible as there is no line wrapping in kterm). This is not a true crash because the games are still playable but the message stays at the bottom all time.

hmm.. got a specific one? a title?

Could have look at the logs.
AFAIK this build of the interpreter doesn't seem to support graphics. (I tried out one demo), no doubt the OP can correct me.

Hi, this is the terminal version of glulxe, it is a (n)curses based terminal program using glkterm for I/O. Glkterm does not support graphics.
Glulx IF games can check if graphics are supported (instead of crashing), for examples the glulx version of Photopia displays a message that says something like: This game requires graphics support, but this glulx interpreter does not support graphics. For a non graphics version, please play the z-machine version of the game. Then the game quits.

I just found this thread and I was wondering if this will work on the K4? If not, what needs to be changed to make it so?
