I noted: that the 2 titles on that list that I had purchased are no longer available to me for download.

Remember to keep your own backups. This could happen anytime

to any book source and is beyond their control.

I have downloaded all the books I bought there, but the ones I still had on my wishlist are almost twice the price and geographically restricted at other places :-(

not just download, but keep backup somewhere safe

who knows if they do not actively and silently erase from your devices...

Now, that is something I don't understand: can't they tell the rights holders who bought the ebooks? why should I have any less rights to the ebook I bought from some publishing house when the rights holders quit business with them? who can save us from cruel companies?...

I only have two on the list (the Foglio books) and I have active copies on two readers.
I'll make sure to store a few extra backups.

And not a very good start. I have quite a few of the books in the list. I really liked the authors that Night Shade was publishing. I really hope that they move to another publisher.

Because, this makes me not want to deal with the new publisher.

The publisher still links to the books (at least the ones I checked) at Baen for people who want to buy, even though they had them removed from sale.
