Data that is synced by either symlink or shortcuts will automatically become shares. Copy needs to mark these files as shares to upload the data that the link points to. We may change the way symlinks and shortcut are dealt with in the future. Nobody can access this data unless you send them a link to the data. If you unshare these folder, it may cause issues with sync.
If you unshare, weird definitely things will happen! I saw that it made my mp3 folder shared so I unshared it. All was fine until I added a few more folders and it made them shared as well so I unshared them too. All of a sudden I am only using 600 mb of data, but my mp3 folder is 20 gb. it looks like it is uploading everything again. I guess I should make them all shared again before I do anymore syncing.

I hope I don't have any upload limits! I don't have any official upload limits, but I hope all this activity won't cause a problem anyway.

No I got a reply a few days ago saying they were forwarding it to their web team and someone would get back to me. I haven't heard anything since then.

I currently have my calibre opds catalogue on Dropbox. It works beautifully, but I'm having to pay as I'm over 4 gigs. I know that opds catalogues don't work on some cloud storage sites, although I'm unclear as to exactly why not. Would it work on Copy.com? Has anyone tried? Thanks!

Have any of you guys tried SpiderOak? You don't get a ton of space (2GB, with up to 10GB with referrals), but the secure aspect of it sounds appealing for certain files. I just signed up, but haven't really had a chance to try it so wondered if others had.

I like the backup option as it doesn't appear you have to move files to their folder.

I signed up with your link, but have to wait to finish getting my main PC back up and running before I can install it.

Have you tried it out on SugarSync? I haven't tried it myself, I've never set up calibre2opds, but from what I've read, it should work since when you share a file, you get a public link for it. SugarSync also starts you out with 6.1GB (5GB free, 500MB for referral link, and 625MB for completing steps after the initial signup). You can also expand it through referrals up to 32GB.

I got some more clarification on the shared folder situation.

If your Copy folder is on the same drive as the folder you are syncing via a shortcut, it is fine to unshare the folder. The files in the folder will still sync even if the folder is not listed on the shared folders list.

But if the folder the shortcut in the Copy folder points to is on a different drive than where the Copy folder is located, then the folder must be listed as a shared folder for the sync to work.

Yes it is a limited time offer. From their site:

To celebrate Copy's launch, earn 5 GB of extra free storage for yourself and whoever you refer each time you introduce someone new to Copy. This is a limited time opportunity to rack up huge amounts of extra free storage while we build the initial buzz around Copy!

I have 19.5GB and I have to say I really dislike the last update to the Dropbox desktop app. Now when I right click on it in my system tray I get a pop window that shows recently change files instead of the info I am use to looking for.

Copy's so far I uploaded my Calibre Library to. It didn't take long at all. The folder shortcut makes it easier to keep both Dropbox and Copy working together without losing more space.
How did you get referrals from Google search?
