Oh I know! I talk to authors all the time on Facebook. One author sent me some of her paperbacks just because she liked my wall. When Julia Quinn was promoting donating blood and I mention that it had saved my little nephew's life while he was battling Leukemia till he got two bone marrow transplants. That's just one example but I have talked to many famous authors and they are just as lovely as their books. I only had a couple negative experiences with a few authors but almost all of them have been positive experiences.

I asked Sarah Mayberry once to consider writing a book for a secondary character who seemed rather irredeemable and she said I wasn't the first to ask her that and now she is considering it. If she ever does I'll be tickled pink knowing I had a rather small part in the book.

I've yet to have a negative experience with an author via social media. I think it would turn me off to ever reading an author's book again!

Not always but my last negative experience did have put an author on my ban list. I try to be understanding as I realize they are people just like us but this particular author was having trollish behavior.

On a positive experience, I told Julie Ann Walker I wanted more audiobooks for her Biker series and finally they released one. In Rides Trouble in Audible came out last week of July. So yes it's really works to leave feedback.

Anyone can have a bad day. The problem is a bad day for someone with any sort of celebrity can turn into *forever* which isn't a good thing!

So true! This is why I am more forgiving on authors unless the behavior is just crazy in a bad way then I just move on.

I have it on my Kindle but reading Rock Chick Revolution or trying to. My very sweet but sometimes not so bright hubby decided to clean out under the sink. He found a can of air freshener that was probably oh 7 years old and sprayed it to see if it stilled smell good!
I am sure it had yuckies in it because I've been sick every since. Started with allergic reaction within seconds as I was less than a foot away and now dealing with my sinuses. I'm miserable.

I am struggling with Rock Chick Revolution as I think KA may have forgot how to write English or was intoxicated when she wrote this book. We all know her grammar isn't the best but this one is WOW full of simple mistakes like words in brackets and parenthesis that doesn't need to be and just some sentences that don't make much sense. The dialogue isn't flowing or the character's narration. It's hard for me to accept this is KA's writing! I'm only at Chapter 4 but it's been a long road to get there having to go back and reread every other paragraph. I have to finish it to know what happens to everyone. I've waited over a year for this book. It seems thrown together and not in a KA good way my only hope as I get farther in the book she gets her groove back and it starts sounding like KA again.

Did you read the review at DA? Or not because of spoilers? All I'll say is that it did not fair well. It wasn't Jane that reviewed it - I forget now who it was - but I kept thinking while I was reading it was what Jane would be saying if she had done the review Or Sarah at SBTB...

I could care less about that.
My problem is the writing. It's doesn't have that KA magic I love. I tell myself she will get her mojo back as the story gets father along....I hope.

I think this one was previously titled "A Man in a Kilt" (Zebra 2004). At the time I read it I was on a big Scotsman kick and liked it.
