I'm confused on this page splitting thing, does it mean it splits files larger than 300k into 2 seperate files on the Sony PRS-500/505 or it just forces in a page break at the 300k limit? but you still have 1 file?

released version 0.4.86 which has support for automatic splitting (you can turn off splitting with the option --profile None)

In addition, EPUB conversion has been integrated into the GUI (select the output format you want from the config dialog).

I don't suppose when you save EPUB files you can select for them to save author name - title? instead of title - author name.

Hmm considering the number of people that have requested epub output, this thread is strangely quiescent. Are there no bugs at all in the EPUB conversion? Or (more likely) is no one using it?

Nah, we are all busy converting our books to epub now

maybe you can take a guess as to this error.
It happens with or without the --chapter

Another thing

When using a txt as source, the metadata does not get written to the epub.
The Author is Unknown and the Book name is something like calibre_0.4.86.kaozzx.

Also the data from ///Table of Contents/// does not make it into the toc of the epub.

That looks like a logic error. Can you open a ticket and attach the problem HTML file.

txt files don't have any metadata, which is why txt2epub uses defaults. (in this case the name of the intermediate file and unknown. You should specify metadata with the --title and --author options or the --from-opf option.

Will do.

I noticed another thing. When i fetch metadata from the server the fields are correctly filled. After converting to epub the Author sort field contains the same information as the Publisher field.

I did some conversion last night. It worked perfectly for me. My big push will come Friday, when I start my mass-conversion.
