The avatar is really a piece of 1940/1950 era "clip art" sold to many job printers and ad agencies. As I remember there was a full set including family shots and closeups (like this one) of each member. In the 1950s they would turn up in all sorts of ads for everything from hardware to camping supplies to engagement rings..

And besides all that ......
It doesn't look like his pipe is even LIT.

Sheesh. It's just a "gotta have something in my mouth" fetish. Now, the grin ..... THAT we should worry about. Perhaps we could reverse the grin by triggering that tear gas trigger while the pipe is still in his mouth?

And people wonder why I love you so much! Tried to make your karma 5000, but adding 83 to 4917 apparently yields 4999 here in MRville.

Karma is funny that way. It seems that if you use the Dial-a-karma feature it rounds your karma gift to an even number unless you try to give 1 karma point (which you can't, as the lowest is 2.) The only way to give an odd amount of karma is to give all the karma you can and to have your amount of karma to give be odd.

so THAT is why !!!! sheesh, that has been driving me crazy. for a while i thought i suddenly got really stupid and was completely incapable of basic math (which is also a possibility, regardless of the quirks of dial-a-karma). thank you, wood, for shedding light on that mystery.

Question #1: Because of my avatar, should I start buying ebooks from BoB?

Question #2: How many Bobs are there, really?

Question #3: If the sun exploded right now (lets pretend it has enough mass), would we have a few seconds (after 8.3168708 minutes, of course) to realize we would all die and our ebook Readers would all fail?

#1 Bob is all knowing and all present, so you have no real choice.

#2 There is only one Bob.

#3 We might have a few other things to worry about, but no, we'd find out at the speed of light.

Does your avatar have a Virginia driver's license? Does your avatar have a headset for its cell phone? Did your avatar get a ticket for the Barry McGuire "Trippin' the 60s" concert?
