				Online file storage sites

Anyone have a recommendation for a good file storage site for a business. Don't think Dropbox, SugarSync, etc will work for what we want. Would like to have something that we could give only certain employees 'permissions' to access a folder and allow them to edit the files in the folder. Would like for it to prevent 2 people from opening and editing the files at the same time. Most offerings I have come across will allow me to set 'permissions' for certain people but will not prevent more than one person from opening and editing a file at the same time. Have looked onto Google, but each would have to have a Google account. The owners don't want that.

I just noticed this afternoon that Dropbox has business accounts now. Something to check out, anyway.

Will try to find more info on Sharepoint. Their site doesn't spell it out very well. Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right spot. Do you know if you have to have Office 365 to use it?

No, you use Sharepoint with a web browser. You can use it to store any type of files. My employer uses it as a document repository for all the projects we're working on, all our process documents, and so on. If you say that sites like Dropbox are beyond your budget, however, I strongly suspect that Sharepoint will also be. It's an "Enterprise" solution designed for large organisations. |

I've never really used it by I signed up for a free 10Gb at alfresco.com a while back. I believe this is based around document management etc rather than just pure cloud storage. Might be worth a look.
