Parts of New Zealand's Fiordland get somewhat damp. The Milford Sound area gets about 8 metres of rain a year - the post-rain waterfalls streaming off the surrounding rocky heights are amazing.

I would have thought that any tidal area of land that gets covered by the sea twice a day would be way wetter than anything that mere rainfall could achieve.
