>On July 25th, 2013 MobileRead, an eBook discussion forum desperate for content due to a significant decline in eBook reader interest and site views since 2012,
Seriously? Both of those facts are wrong. And, I'm sure Alex could tell you, the traffic on this site has not decreased in any way. --citation needed for BOTH of those statements please. Perhaps several Ectaco employees have Wikipedia logins as well??? BOb |

Besides the caching issue, Wikipedia and other global websites have servers all over the world. Edits take a while to propagate. In this case, I hope the shills' attempts to rewrite history fail.

"Forum administrators were unable to provide any proof, citing confidentiality."
Eh? Who cited anything about confidentiality? "After a review of the information it was deemed a failed attempt at extortion and racketeering in conjunction with Ectaco, Inc.'s refusal to advertise with the MobileRead." This is funny. How would anyone but Ectaco or MobileRead know that Ectaco refused to advertise with "the" MobileRead? Tsk. What a scam. |

And now the entire Controversy section is gone again.

I posted on this story yesterday and I just finished updating the post to include this latest sockpuppetry.
Wikipedia makes at least the 5th example of Ectaco's astroturfing (MobileRead, 2 ereader blogs, and another online forum): http://www.the-digital-reader.com/20...puppet-scheme/ |

All I've learned over the last 24 hours that Ectaco is a sleezebag company. Generally an apology is a good company policy on these things, but now they've gone into trolling and cyberbullying. Nice. Stay classy Ectaco.

Well, that sucks.
I like the JetBook Color 1 hardware. The JetBook Color 2 on the other side had a glare screen which is an unfortunate choice. I had no problems with Ectaco beside their incredible bad usability firmware (and the glare screen with the JBC2). There was such a potential and the firmware and software side blew it. Imagine a JetBook with an Android system instead of that Windows CE system. Despite that points I doubt that creating some positive articles in here would change profits in a significant way. IMHO MR has not such a global influence. |
