Your right about the menu - no. 9 is "Backward", and it takes me back to the correct page in the book. I thought pressing the "page back" button (no. 9) when in the footnote section was supposed to do the same thing, but that will only take you - surprise - one page back..

One of the posters at the-ebook.org said that he was successful in using the Longman dictionary. After opening it, a soft keyboard for entering words appeared.

![]() Anywho, could you please check if there is a step-by-step guide there and I'll try it when I get home. But I don't really see how you should work comfortable with a soft keyboard n the BeBook. I guees moving between characters on it with forward/back and another button too select letter. Very tedious, and will take too long to be really useful. |

From the mentioned post: you need to left the book, open dictionary, press "7", choose "index", press Ok and choose the first menu item - and you'll see the on-screen keyboard. Press number key several times to select a letter. |

Try this one:
http://mybebook.com/p9/Free-Mobipock...te!/pages.html (don't worry, you can install it on other V3 clones, not only on BeBooks). |

If someone wants to try the dictionary support in the new bebook firmware -- just start with the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (the demo version from the official mobipocket website). The dictionary search does not work the same way as it does on all the other mobi-supported devices. Probably in the future it will be improved.
So, open the Longman Dict. on your V3, press "7", press "1" (Dictionary search), press "Ok" button, press "1" ... and you've got the keyboard ... start typing what you want to find in the "Index" list and press "Ok". Other dictionaries (for example Collins) may not work because the "index" part in those prc-books is not properly created. Such searching is extremely slow and painful which makes it basically useless, especially if one compares the convenience of that with the mobi-dictionary support on Symbian or Palm. |

I suspect that some sort of "running-in-the-background-making-immediate-look-ups-possible"-functionality would be necessary for me to use it actively... |
