Just died
Tried resetting. Tried charging. None of the regular tricks seem to be helping. No power at all. Any suggestions?

What do you mean by "died"? Is it a blank screen? Is it stuck in a book or on the sleep screen? How long did you charge it for, and did you use a wall plug or a computer to charge it? What happens when you plug it into a computer? Can you see the files and folders from your computer?

I can't guarantee it, but if you told us which model you have it might get you a few more suggestions...
Whoops, just noticed it was under Touch. Have you tried charging it with a known working charger, then holding the power switch off for 20 seconds or so, then holding menu button in while powering up? If nothing repeat. If still nothing try it while holding the paperclip reset button in while hitting the power switch, then try again. Watch the LED next to the power slider when you try these things. Also try holding the paperclip, menu button and power slider. Is there anything on the screen? Or do you see any brief flashes on the screen like it's trying to write a screen? Won't power on at all - just see book cover of current book that is open. Charged via outlet not computer. Charged for a full day. Power light doesn't even flicker when trying to power on.

Did you switch out the USB cable as well as the charger? Have you followed the exact factory reset procedure as outlined by Technisol above? (It doesn't just involve 'trying to power on'.) And repeated it?
If that does nothing AFTER charging with a known-good cable and charger (not one that has worked in the past, but one that is working right now); try repeating the procedure exactly (including powering off first regardless of what you see on the screen): but holding the paperclip in while powering on, rather than holding the Home button down while powering on. |

THANKS
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Used a new cable and did the power/reset/home button all at once and it's back to life.
