Fans of Edgar Rice Burroughs NEED the October Baen bundle!

Head on over to the deals and freebies forum, [Thread now moved to the Freebies Forum - MODERATOR] and get yourself on the list for this one. The first half of the new-release books were just made available. Here's the Table of Contents for Worlds of Edgar Rice Burroughs:

Introduction

Tarzan and the Great War
by Kristine Kathryn Rusch

The Fallen, A Tale of Pellucidar
by Mercedes Lackey

Scorpion Men of Venus
by Richard A. Lupoff

The Forgotten Sea of Mars
by Mike Resnick

Apache Lawman
by Ralph Roberts

Moon Maid Over Manhattan
by Peter David

Tarzan and the Martian Invaders
by Kevin J. Anderson and Sarah A. Hoyt

The Two Billys, A Mucker Story
by Max Allan Collins and Matthew Clemens

To the Nearest Planet
As told to Todd McCaffrey

The Dead World
As related by David Innes to F. Paul Wilson via Gridley Wave

Tarzan and the Land That Time Forgot
by Joe R. Lansdale

I had been putting off reading "The Forgotten Sea of Mars" for over a year now, because of the terrible two-column PDF version that's floating around on the internets. Now we all get a nice, clean copy! Once the whole book is out, however, I will want to paste in the artwork from the old ERB-dom fanzine.

Two thumbs up!

Moved to the Freebies forum, since this thread is really about these titles as a deal.

These bundles are available at a discount only for the three months before the individual titles are published. Each month, the pre-release download offers up and extra 25% of *each* title, like the old-time pulp serials. For anthologies it means you get early access to a few extra stories each month.

For fans of Burroughs, this volume hits all the sweet spots and is a must have. New Mucker, new Apache Devil? I hope it also takes us beyond the farthest star... Todd McCaffrey, perhaps?

I wonder if this might lead to an aisle over at Kindle Worlds...

You will be bumped up to 3/4's of the books for the October webscription after August 15th, and then be bumped up to the full book after September 15th. If I am remembering correctly it is also after September 15th that the individual sales for the October ebooks are also available at all outlets where Baen is sold. The Webscription itself is only available at Baenebooks.com for the three/four months prior to release.

I usually purchase in advance and just download once when the books are complete. I've got more than enough books on by TBR to keep me going until September.

Lucky you... I have enough books on my TBR pile to keep me going until the turn of the century (at least).

From the BaenEbooks FAQ:
Spoiler:
Each novel is published in three segments, one month apart, beginning three months before the actual publication date. Each month, several books are available. For each month purchased, you receive access to a directory containing these books.

Four months before publication, the Ebook is listed as Forthcoming.
Three months before publication, you gain access to the first Half of the books in HTML format.
Two months before publication, you gain access to the first Three Quarters of the books in HTML format.
One month before publication, you receive full access to the final quarter in all seven DRM-free formats, completing the books.
About two weeks after the last quarter is delivered to that month's Monthly Baen Ebook subscribers, bookstores around the country will begin to stock these titles (if the book is new).
