![]() Most of my purchases lately are wishlist so I'm ok with that. So far this week 6-wishlist and 2-not-wishlist, all $1 buys. My biggest temptation is still darn Tangled and I'm thinking if I'm even close to budget this week I'm just going to buy it already. I know my budget may be shredded next week or so because there's a few new releases coming that I want and may not wait for either! ![]() Last edited by Blue2u; 07-11-2013 at 09:47 PM. |

Not buying a book this week feels weird! No Money and hubby's got outpatient surgery in a few days. So I am tensed. I don't drive and he can't drive afterward so that mean's taking a taxi which is a 45 minute drive to the clinic and 45 minutes drive back. I asked the nurse can you go ahead and give a prescription for the pain so it can be filled before surgery because we wont have a way to get it and they said snobbishly. No we don't do that.
![]() On a good note I got a $5 Amazon gift card coming to me from Swagbucks so get a couple of books with that. I plan to take my K3 to the clinic (It has 3G) but not sure how much reading I will get done. ![]() |

Sending wishes that your husband's surgery goes well. I would try talking to the doctor or office manager again and explain the situation re: lack of transportation. There's no reason they can't get you the Rx early.

I have tried talking to them they don't seem to get that we don't live in the same town as them. This is not the same surgery group I use who are awesome. I will try again tomorrow. I might be able to get through to someone new this time. Quote:
![]() He's having a laparoscopic hernia repair. I'm no sure how long that will take either but hoping they don't have to convert to open surgery but I have to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. |

Blossom, I'm hoping everything goes well with your hubby's surgery and you get someone willing to help out with the prescription. This won't be a good time for you to be stressed
![]() Taxi fare can certainly add up. This reminds of a conference my coworker and I went to last year. We took an airport taxi to our hotel and the driver overcharged us (a lot), and he wanted a tip at the back of it. I offered him $1 (that was a manifestation of my "you've got to be kidding me"). He got upset and actually asked for a bigger tip! I told him I wasn't giving him a cent more. He took his fare and left. He didn't take the dollar, though ![]() When we told front desk about it, they were appalled - taxi fare between the hotel and the airport was half what he charged us. We were furious ![]() On another note, the tipping thing still gets to me whenever I travel to the US. I always feel put upon to tip, whereas in my country, tipping is voluntary and we mostly only tip really good/exceptional service. I normally tip the supermarket porters who take our groceries to the vehicle but I only do that because they're usually young kids with after-school or summer jobs. In almost all our hotels, guests aren't supposed to tip the staff, and the staff either aren't supposed to accept tips or it's supposed to go in some sort of tip fund and shared equally. Employees can lose their jobs if they're found accepting tips. |

Blossom, prayers and good wishes for you and hubby. I think you're idea of trying to call again and hopefully getting to talk to someone with some empathy is good, wishing you luck with that too. Good luck on everything and keep us posted. *hugs*

Thanks guys! I'm stressed because he is stressed. I absorb other peoples emotions like a sponge. That is why I am such a loner I think.
Loosh your Twitter account can get hacked. I think I read somewhere they dont even need to know your password. Revoke any apps that show up. That's usually how it happens. Facebook has similar issues. My mother and sister has it happen to them too often. |

If they won't give you the actual Rx ahead of time they should at least be willing to call it in to your pharmacy while he's in surgery/recovery so it can be waiting for you to just stop in on the way home and pick it up. So make sure you take your pharmacy phone and fax number in with you if they won't help when you call tomorrow.
