Yup .... looks like we are that ... except about all that stuff about swapping body fluids ... no need for either of us to go there. It's enough that we share our love of a wonderfully annoying ring tone.

You know, for some reason this made me think of cootie shots. Did you kids down under give each other cootie shots at school?? It was to ward off either boy or girl cooties (depending on your orientation) ... although no one ever actually told anyone what cooties were ... you just didn't want them. At my school, a cootie shot usually consisted of an "x" in ink on your upper arm.

Oh yeah .... good times.

Having just spent the weekend with my niece's somewhat illegitimate two children, I have now experienced "EVIL INCARNATE". I was ready to ship them to Paris so ZP could broil them for lunch. I can readily understand her uncommon "love" of loud children. I would love for them to have been in Paris (France - not Georgia. That would be too close.)

oh god, sadly (for everyone, including me) they are still there. they are ALL still there, and school is back in session as well. and they are all still shrieking, and every time i hear them (which is often) i feel paranoid and go listen at the window to see if i also hear an adult voice (and i do, and it is shouting in chinese, generally, which does nothing to calm down the shrieking child(ren) of course), and wonder if i should call the farking police ANYWAY, and then mutter curses about the farking police who let that beknighted woman (a pox be on her head) bring those kids back here the last time, and do nothing, except agonise over the situation and then try to convince myself that i cannot be responsible for all the problems in the world (specifically this one).

yes, there are rules, and supposedly there are even agents who go around checking up on licenced caretakers. of course, if she's *not* licenced (or even here legally...), then why would they check up on her, right ? i don't claim to understand what went on there. i think those particular policemen felt it wasn't their job to handle that, which i find particularly infuriating. it doesn't make any sense to me either, any of it.

Even when there are rules, there are always people who move into the area, and in THEIR culture the rules in the new location simply do NOT apply to them. Period.

They will then proceed to tell anyone who dares to question this view of life, at the top of their lungs, in a language only they and a half dozen or so other goat herders of their particular tribe understand ... or perhaps they are just calling the police and their neighbors sons of unclean dogs ... no one will ever know.

And their children and any other children related or unrelated that they care to cram into their homes and call it "day care" will shriek the farking day away, until one of the little tots falls fatally victim to some bit of complete lack of supervision, and then everybody bemoans the fact that no one did anything about the situation.

And horses, I hate horses - they scare the crap out of me! I'm pretty sure they're evil. "Sleep standing up", my arse - that sounds like the undead to me. I bet they leap the fence at new moon to feast on human flesh. You notice you never see homeless people out in the country? You know why? Horses ate them.

Evil. Horses. I'm sure of it. Flowers probably are too (especially roses...and tulips...and definitely triffids)

<freeAssociationWarning>Cooties remind me, I just watched Speed Racer on cable, which mentions cooties twice in the movie.</freeAssociationWarning> But watching the movie is what bugged me: Seeing a wide-screen movie cut into a square is evil incarnate.

Yes, they sliced the ends off the movie to show it on digital cable, making the left and right sides of my wide-screen TV useless... and worst of all, I paid for it! (To be honest, this is the first time I've used Fios' On-Demand service... and now that I see how they slice up movies, it may be the last.)
