Nook Tablets discounted again in the UK
I got an email this morning from NookUk, the tablets are discounted further for July.

Nook HD 8GB is £99
Nook HD 16GB is £129

Nook HD+ 16Gb is £149
Nook HD+ 32Gb is £179

Oh and I got a 32GB Sandisc microSDCard from Staples recently for £29.99 and £1.99 postage which looks genuine and works perfectly in my Nook HD.

Hmmm. If I didn't have two tablets already this would be a no brainier. I don't think I can justify a third.

bgalbrecht: Unfortunately it has been that way for a long time. When I moved to the UK a few years back, I would visit home (Canada) and stock up on "bargain" electronics that I needed while I was here...

Prices in Europe are always higher (and the UK seems to be specially hit), but keep in mind that European prices include sales tax (as high as 25%), whereas the US prices are before tax.

In the UK, the VAT rate is 20%, but yes that's a significant part of it.

The price before VAT then would be £25. Also there's probably a shipping cost, and who knows what import duty is paid on all those devices arriving in the UK?
