Just finished Savage Run by CJ Box I enjoyed it a lot I think it was much better than the first book in the series which had problems due to its alternating voice. 2nd one was a great improvement, I've put the 3rd in the TBR pile. Not sure what I'm going to read next I may return to the Harry Bosch series or perhaps a total change of pace with Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore or 11/22/63

I've never read one Koontz novel so I don't feel tired, although I wasn't that enamoured by the writing style of the first few pages of Odd Thomas, but it's growing on me and I like the premise. |

Just finished "The Inimmitable Jeeves" by P.G. Wodehouse; his first "Jeeves" novel. A joy to read, as always - Wodehouse is my favourite humorous author. In this novel, Bertie Wooster has to get his friend Bingo Little out of a whole series of scrapes as he (Bingo) falls in love with a whole series of unsuitable girls. A timeless classic.

It's not one to start with. You really do need to read Draw One In The Dark and Gentleman Takes a Chance first.

Only thing I didn't fancy is the fact that the book is under 200 pages. I wanted more ![]() Next up...finishing the Perdido Street Station. |

Figured. Draw One I already have, but Gentleman I would have to purchase. Not happening this month. I'm saving my $$ for the eARC of Trade Secret, which is far higher on my list.

Just Finished:
- Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King (hardcover) - Found this book under my bed and realized I had only read 3 of the 4 stories in it. So tonight I finished the book. It's the first book I've read in more than two years that wasn't on an ereader. Currently Reading: - O Jerusalem by Laurie R. King (58%) - Joseph Anton by Salman Rushdie (54%) |

Re: Neil Gaiman's "The Ocean at the End of the Lane"
Ouch, less than 200 pages? That's disappointing, considering it's his first adult novel in 8 years. Also considering it's $13. I might just wait until my library gets it, since they have all his other books.

Happy to help. One other suggestion. Don't want the movie. It's lousy. It's so not like the book. They changed the story too much. While I really enjoyed the book, I could not get past much of the movie.

Finished The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck. I really enjoyed this story. It's quite clearly part of a series as it ends leaning towards the second book. However, as much as I liked the book, I'm not that interested in continuing the saga.
I really liked the main character and the book basically followed him from the age of a very young man to an old man about to die. It was fascinating in its portrayal of the rural Chinese farmer, the view of women as slaves, the relationship between the main character and his own wife and the effect of wealth not only on him, but also on his sons. I felt rewarded for having read it, but for the moment, it's enough. Next, I'm moving on to another indie author, Barry Napier with his novel Cold Compass. When selecting it for review I thought it could shape into an exciting read. However, the prose seems a little mediocre now that I've started. Hopefully it picks up. |

Yay, my library has a copy! Wait, I'm #47 on the waiting list. Looks like I'll be waiting a while.
