$.99 deal on a surfer book. Maverick by Anna Cruise
blurb:

*This is a New Adult romance with adult themes, language, and sexual content.*

Kellen Handler is in deep.

Ever since he can remember, he’s wanted to be a professional surfer. And he made it, rising to the top of the ranks, traveling the world and riding every break he’s ever dreamed of. His good looks and reputation for living on the edge—both in and out of the water—have made him an international superstar. But when his best friend dies in a tragic accident, Kellen wipes out big time, spiraling so badly that everything he’s worked for starts to disintegrate.

Tour officials scramble to do damage control and demand he work with a public relations company to clean up his bad boy image. It doesn't help that the person assigned to him, Gina Bellori, has her own demons associated with the surfing world.

Against her better judgement Gina accepts the job and concentrates on repairing Kellen's tattered reputation, despite his protests and despite the pain it causes her. With her past colliding with her present—and Kellen in the thick of it—she begins to realize that some secrets can't stay hidden.

And suddenly, Kellen Handler is no longer worried about losing his career.

He's more worried about losing his heart.

I wonder if they didn't tell us this was NA if it would really read like it? I'm the first to admit that I'm leery of NA and haven't read any (at least not anything obvious), but this blurb doesn't read NA to me... well, except maybe for the hidden secret in the h's past - but depending on the secret, that's not a trope necessarily exclusive to NA. The blurb makes the H/h's seem well established in their careers and adulthood. Wonder if the author is calling it NA to grab onto the bandwagon... Or maybe I'm totally missing the boat on what NA is

I know what you mean about the vague-ness of NA category. Although this is the genre I like, sometimes you get YA, contemporary, erotic, etc. mixed in. I'm not sure who decides what falls into what category. I remember an author posting a big blog about it and she was quite upset about how her books were being labeled. *shrugging* I don't really know, and I'm not really sure, so maybe I shouldn't reply!
But yes, I enabled myself right into '1clickbuy' too.

The Naughty Never Die (The Seduction Series) [Kindle Edition]
L.L. Kellogg (Author), Laurie Kellogg (Author)

http://www.amazon.com/Naughty-Never-..._154606011_f_1

Quote:
Winner of Ignite the Flame and the Touch of Magic contests and a Daphne du Maurier finalist

If only the good die young, then New Jersey's virtuous First Lady should be a cinch to kill.
Unless....deep down she's really quite naughty.

The Beauty--a chronic people pleaser who's had enough of her goody-two-shoes life

Since her mother's untimely death, crusader Josephine Callahan has served as New Jersey's First Lady. Acting as her father's official hostess in the governor's mansion is tantamount to living in a fishbowl, which makes S-E-X extremely difficult. On the brink of a nervous breakdown, frustrated Josie loses her usual good sense along with her cool and lets her assemblyman boyfriend sweet-talk her into an impromptu romantic getaway--something she would never consider if she had a clue someone is trying to kill her.

The Beast--an incurable bad boy who refuses to admit beneath his scars lurks a hero.

A deliberately twisted message, via the governor's spiteful assistant, misleads ex Special Forces officer, DJ Ryder, as to the true objective of his freelance assignment. He's told to, not only track down the governor's classy daughter and hold her in protective custody, but to also teach her a lesson by letting her believe she's been kidnapped.

When Josie discovers the scarred, but still sexy, badass has played her for a fool, she retaliates by feigning a raging case of Stockholm syndrome, teasing the brute until all he can think of is the 'hold her' part of his orders. How can Ryder concentrate on keeping Josie safe when he's busy avoiding the danger she poses to his heart?

NOTE: This book has an extra high sensuality level and is not for those seeking a 'sweet' romance.

I can't remember if I posted this one yesterday or not, but it's the nth time I've looked at it and dang if the '1clickbuy' virus get me! Dang what is it with surfers today?

Good Vibrations by S.L. Scott
blurb:New Adult Best Seller - Contains mature content meant for 18+ years of age.
I grab her exploring finger just as it reaches my happy trail--a trail that if I let her wander down further will lead us to do things we can't take back. Things like three-word phrases being confessed that would end me if I was rejected. Things like selfishly wanting to own her body and doing things to her that would make my fantasies blush. And things like making her promises too soon that won't do either of us any good. She makes me want a future that's not possible, and one I don't deserve.

Listening to my ego got me into this situation. Will listening to my heart get me out?

Me too (after reading the sample)! And now that I've read the sample this'll be pushing my other books down the TBR list! I don't get why this is NA either... maybe just based on the ages of the H/h? Seems a lot of what would have been just contemporary romance is getting the NA label based on character age. Eh. I try to disregard it as much as possible, but it is nice to get a heads up when the main characters are late-teens or college students.

NA is based on age so if you see the label you know the characters are under 25. Right now NA is so hot that authors are redefining their books just to take part of the NA craze. Some NA fans will buy anything NA and authors are taking advantage of that.

I want nothing to do with any NA books and if I suspect the characters fall into that range, I refuse to read it. Unless it's historical romance, then that age is fine.

I read NA. Alot of them are out of the box romances. Some are really wonderful and refreshing! Some are downright disturbing and cross over the abuse line or really dark and twisted.
