Delirium was a bit disappointing but not too bad. I'll still read books 2&3, later.

I'm late to the party, but I've started the Game of Thrones bundle (4 books). So for now it's A Game of Thrones. I think I'll read other books in between, though

In the 25th century, humanity is slowly winning a war against the xenophobic and genocidal Kangas. In an attempt to change history and destroy the human race before it develops spaceflight, a Kanga batllefleet makes a desperate attempt to travel backwards in time, hotly pursued by a human fleet. They end up in the early 21st century where the sole survivor of the human fleet must attempt to cooperate with the primitive military forces of 2007 to destroy the surviving Kanga Cyborg (the "Troll" of the title) before it can destroy humanity.

Very good. I recommend this one to anyone who likes military SF or thrillers.

I liked this one so much that I have it in pback on my shelf. It was just as good when I reread it and plan on another reread sometime.

I finished Joyland by Stephen King yesterday. Yes, I read and enjoyed a paper book. I am now reading Citadel by John Ringo on my Kobo. Read the first book in the trilogy awhile ago and figured I should continue it. Enjoying so far.

I absolutely loved Life of Pi. I have to choose something else. I picked up a non-fiction called Mrs. Woolf and the Servants the other day. Maybe that.

Well that was a pleasure, and there were lots of things I had forgotten or missed the first time through. Can't wait for Trade Secret.

Next up is the third in the Wess'Har series, The World Before.

Wow. That was excellent. It's set somewhere closely analogous to fifth/sixth century Britain, but not. Active gods and magic, for one thing! The changed names are sometimes irritating, and sometimes a useful reminder that this isn't really Arthurian Britain.

Next: Hmmm... perhaps another oldie. Realtime Interrupt by James P. Hogan, that I bought back in July 2002.

Just starting Seasons in the Sun : The Battle For Britain, 1974-1979 by Dominic Sandbrook, which covers the period of Harold Wilson's last term in office, the Winter of Discontent, and up to Margaret Thatcher walking into No 10. Very gripping so far. Can that last to page 811?

That's a good one. On my "re-read" list, too.

Finishing up a re-read of Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy (star wars). Next up, I think I am going to read David Weber's Prince Roger/Empire of Man series starting with March Upcountry. I've had it on my Kindle for a while and never got around to it.

I envy you the thrill of discovery for getting to read Marching Upcountry for the first time. I've read it three times already, and since you have jogged my memory, I'll probably be reading it again soon

I love Sandbrook's social histories - I think he does a terrific job of capturing the atmosphere of the era.

I don't know if you've read Never Had It So Good and White Heat, but if not (and you continue enjoying Seasons in the Sun) I'd recommend them.

Thanks for the recommendations. I am 100 pages in, and still enjoying it, so I will definitely look at your suggested titles.

It makes me want to look at Fawlty Towers and Monty Python again. I hadn't realized that Fawlty Towers was based on Cleese's experiences at a particular hotel.
