For PDFs you really want a bigger screen. My 9" Nook HD+ is just about right. Before that I had the 7" Nook Tablet and I had to keep zooming and scrolling to read the small print. Of course, I was looking at magazines in PDF form, but even things like textbooks would be very small on a 7" screen.

I appreciate the advice but I currently have the iPad 3 and its just too big for me to read on. That's why I want a smaller device. I am looking at an iPad mini but would prefer not to spend that kind of money.

Lol, that's what I do. I've got a couple of Chinese Android tablets that I swap for when the other is charging. They've got the same apps and settings (courtesy of Titanium Backup). One really nice thing about having removable storage is if your device dies on you, you can just move the card to the other tablet and resume from where you left off.

I actually did a similar thing with my PRS-350s. Hassle with that is I have to keep both devices synced to Calibre since storage is fixed.
