				Annoying AltGr + 1

Everytime I try to type AltGr+1, Sigil writes this:

Right click for menu to add groups and entries. Edit or re-order any item. Use right click in editor to select which entry to paste. Note: The AltGr+1 it's to write the | symbol (OR symbol) in my keyboard, very useful with RegEx searches. ¿Is there a way to disable this? Thanks |

This is probably a long shot (I don't have your keyboard, so can't test it) but:

Try going to the "edit" | "Preferences" menu, click on "keyboard Shortcuts" in the left pane, and then in the right pane try to find out what if anything is assigned to AltGr+1. If you find one, remove it. Good luck. |

Alt GR is a key on a UK keyboard. I find it has absolutely no use and would be better the US way as a plain ALT key.

Alt-Gr generates the same code as CTL+Alt so AltGR+1 will be generating the code for CTL+ALT+1 which on my UK keyboard is a shortcut for "Insert Clip 1" . That seems to be the text being inserted for Clip Help according to the Clip Editor (ALtGR+C)

OK, I see. And so it is here, too. So the OP should try deleting the keyboard shortcut for Ctrl+Alt+1 and see if that helps.

I have a Spanish Keyboard, international (sorry to not say this before),

	something like this http://s22.postimg.org/s5nxomry9/kb_spanishblack.jpg layout in wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:KB_Spanish.svg I didn't know that AltGr it's the same that Ctrl+Alt (that's why I never found any AltGr in the shortcuts editor XD ) In Spanish keyboard layout are used this combinations with AltGr (or Control+Alt): AltGr + º = \ AltGr + 1 = | AltGr + 2 = @ AltGr + 3 = # AltGr + 4 = ~ AltGr + 5 = € AltGr + e = € AltGr + 6 = ¬ AltGr + ` = [ AltGr + + = ] AltGr + ´ = { AltGr + ç = } If any programmer of Sigil is watching this, just as a suggestion Maybe it can be better if in Sigil the default shortcuts Control+Alt+Number are changed to Control+Shift+Number, or Alt+Number, or maybe another combination... I don't know I just removed all the default Control+Alt+number shorcuts and it works ok. My problem is solved. THANK YOU very much for all the answers ^^ Hiro5 |

This is a cross-platform tool usable in many languages, so it is going to be difficult to not create a different problem by solving the one at hand. It is helpful to have this sort of thread available so that others in the same situation can find the answer with less difficulty.
