If the book has DRM, the upload process will throw an error unless you enable either Upload DRM-encumbered ePub files or Silently Ignore Failed Conversions. If you only enable Silently Ignore Failed Conversions, the upload will silently fail (or it should!) and if you enable Upload DRM-encumbered ePub files I won't make any KePub changes at all.

It's really strange...

I did the same conversion as with the file before, didn't spot any obvious differences using Sigil...

What I did now is use the working version and copy & paste the text of the non-working version into the corresponding html-files (chapters). Then I saved the copy, added it to Calibre, transferred it again - and now it works.

There are still some problems in some chapter with the highlights, though (I had that in the first version of the book, too).

Sometimes I add a highlight and then another portion of the text gets highlighted as well, often more than one portion (e.g. first 5 words of the next paragraph... and the next... and the next...). Sometimes the whole rest of the chapter gets highlighted...

Have you enabled hyphenation? That's one of the possible issues with hyphenating KePub files.

No. I don't like hyphenation on my ereader (and also prefer left aligned text) so I never use hyphenation.

But at least the highlights in the annotations section is correct and the other highlights don't appear there...

I anticipate that this will fix a number of issues. As usual, any new issues can go to the GitHub bug tracker.

I remove DRM from all my books before adding to my library. I was just addressing the legality of PMing the book.
(Except those I just got from Kobo, as I haven't looked into it yet.)

Is there some way to create bookshelves based on the Series information?

I tried using the Series Tag in the plugin settings, but that didn't work. Is there a way to do this, or perhaps does someone know a way to copy the Series into another tag that would work?

Have you checked out Quick Guide to Shelf Management with calibre 0.9.1 & above (Touch / Glo / Mini /Aura)

The only difference using the extended driver is that you configure the device KoboTouchExtended and not the KoboTouch device (that should be disabled).

I hadn't, but I have now. I was doing pretty much what it recomended, and I think my problem was that I used "Series" for the bookshelf tag instead of "series". I changes it to lower case and it seems to be working now.

Although, now that I have reloaded all my books, I have a small request. Could the driver be updated to automatically put all of the books that don't have a value in the specified column (in my case "series") into their own bookshelf? This wold probably be best as an option, since I imagine not everyone would want this.

Funny you should ask.. take a look at the last post in that thread for a new column that you could use instead of series to handle that case

PS: There is no need to reload books on shelf changes; the driver should be updating the shelfing when the device is reattached.

Ooops, I spoke too soon. The correct values show up in the calibre interface, but the shelf doesn't get updated on the device. Any idea what I might have done wrong?

Assuming you used the same names, did you change the shelf column to #shelfname?
