Bought three more books today. So 56 books in total for the week.

More than a normal week, but not nearly the amount I got during the Big Harlequin sale. It's all in how you look at it

I bought 300 during that sale. It was a once in a lifetime sale. I knew that. I spent a little over $80 on those books. Once of the best sales ever!

This week I wont be getting anything till Payday. Any good historical coming out? I got the new Karen Hawkins. I guess I need to go check FictionDB for releases coming up.

So true. I look at my book money as my cable bill. I cancelled the cable 4 years ago. So I read instead of watch TV.

Blossom, Eloisa James new one comes out on Tuesday, as well as Tessa Dare's. There is something else but my mind draws a blank. I will have to go the FictionDB as well.

And I have just come from FictionDB. The 3 I forgot was Nicole Jordan, Lecia Cornwall, and
Vicky Dreiling

Same here! I'm sure my wishlist will fill up again very soon but for now it's very light. Of course, this is not taking into account the books I'm tracking on eReaderIQ (I have one semi-big Kobo code left; I'm hoping it will still be valid to buy a book that's releasing tomorrow.)

We don't have cable either. Just our Roku. I only watch Once Upon A Time other than that I read. Hubby is the TV watcher. It's all he does. *sigh*

I don't read Tessa Dare. I found her stories too modern, the writing, the plots... well at least the ones she writes for Avon. The first ones she wrote for the other publisher were different.

I read Eloisa James is more of a fairytale romance writer like Teresa Medeiros would you agree?

If you don't like Tessa Dare, you probably wouldn't like Eloisa James either. Even though I believe she's a history professor, her books are very modern. They are what DA calls "mistoricals"

Personally, although I recognize the historical inaccuracies, they don't bother me and I love both authors. Real life in the 1800's was pretty grim, especially for women, so I'm fine with authors whose characters act more modern and whose plots are completely unrealistic for the times

mistoricals I will have to Google that one! It isn't so much inaccuracies that bothers me but modern talk, modern ideas there's no real historical setting or consequences. It's like reading a contemporary or Fairytale romance.

Women back then could not act like that or there would have been severe consequences.

We could say Virginia Henley who writes very inaccurate historical facts but her books are very much historicals in my opinion and some of my favorites books. There are just some lines you can't cross in a historical romance or it becomes a contemporary romance or just unbelievable.

Now that said there are a few authors I read who I consider fairytale romance like Teresa Medeiros and Julia Quinn but they still keep from crossing those lines.

I was pretty well behaved this week considering... but mostly because half the books on my wish-list are non-couponable. 24 books total, plus that one that didn't work (and got refunded). Aside from what I already posted, I also picked up:

Elizabeth the First Wife by Lian Dolan
The Collector by Victoria Scott
We'll Be Home for Christmas by HelenKay Dimon
Treasured Embrace by Marsha Bauer
The Irish Devil by Donna Fletcher
Surrender to the Night by Evelyn Rogers
The Lady and the Falconer by Laurel O'Donnell
Race the Dawn by Katharine Kincaid
Heart of the Druid Laird by Barbara Longley
The Throne and the Thistle by Juli Moffett
Big Girls Do It #5 + #6 by Jasinda Wilder

Now I'm just stalking Kobo to see if Tangled shows up (it should, the author said it was coming!) in the hopes I can use my last coupon on it!

Me too! But thanks for the heads up from the author, I was just hoping!

I just finished There is no Light in Darkness by Claire Contreras and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Be warned there is a cliffhanger but book 2 comes out this week and it'll be an autobuy for me. It's still $.99 if you're interested. Oh, it's at Kobo too, probably couponable!

Also, has anybody read anything from Jane Harvey-Berrick? I keep getting her books recommended to me, but they never come on sale and seem to be available only from Amazon $5ish range. Her newest one is Dangerous to Know and Love and it zoomed up the lists. I'm just so curious but hate spending that amount on an 'unknown' [to me] author.

I just read that Sweet Thing by Renee Carlino is going on sale tomorrow for 99 cents for Monday and Tuesday only.

This seems to be the most talk about book at the moment.

I'm excited about Undeclared! As someone who had penpals when I was in secondary school, I've always wanted to read a book about two penpals who meet and fall in love.

Thanks for the heads up on the Contreras book; unless I'm thinking about another book, I would've sworn I'd checked for it at Kobo and it wasn't available at the time.

First I'm hearing about this one. It sounds good.

I should really stay away from this thread

I keep up with the New Adult scene Not something I'm interested in but others here might like it. Maryse says it's going in her top reads of 2013. Other blogs I follow and Facebook groups have been talking about it non stop. It's a sweet read not a dark one.
