Off to finish my spree, got interrupted this afternoon by 2+hour power outage. You don't suppose someone was trying to tell me something do you?
Maybe. I have not been bad this week. Only one stupid purchase because I was set in click mode and didn't see that it went back to normal price. I am looking forward to June. I have enough points for 100 dollars for B&N. My nook will be happy. And all the pre orders will be delieverd. I have 3 audiobooks pre ordered, and 6 ebooks.

Now, I wish everyone in the US a Happy Memorial Day Weekend. Take time to smell the outdoors and remember the men and women who fought for our freedom. Also take the time to get the TBR pile down a little. For those who do not celebrate, have a wonderful weekend!!

I am in so much trouble if ARe decides to do their 50% back for Memorial Day. I have several books wishlisted there that aren't at Kobo, plus they allow discounts on HarperCollins titles.

And having enough to read doesn't seem to matter. New books/on-sale books have the shiny BUYMEBUYMEBUYME thing going on...

All Romance eBooks They are a digital bookseller. Open worldwide except on certain titles that are georestricted I think.

They are usually full cover price, but every now and then they have sales where you get 30% or 50% back in eBook Bucks that can then be spent on any title (even agency priced books which aren't eligile for the royalty program). They also have a loyalty program where for every 10 eligible books you buy you get 1 book free (up to $25, not good for bundles though bundles can count toward the 10).

It functions much like Fictionwise in the old days if you were familiar with them.

They also have a sister storefront called OmniLit which has tons of good books, too.

ARe is All Romance Ebooks. It is an online store for ebooks. And as the name suggests it "all romance." They also have another division called Omni Lit, with other genres as well. Some advantages are a cart, you can buy ebucks if you are on a budget, and after every 10 purchases you get a code for a free ebook. There is downside: you cannot get just any book with your code, and the rebates act like a savings bank. You pay full price but the rebate comes as ebucks. You spend alot but have a savings banked for more purchases.

Thank you both for replying. I guess I'll wait and see what kind of sale they have whether it's worth it or not [with the geo-restricting etc]. But thank you both for explaining it to me, I googled it and nothing came up so I appreciate it.

Well, I was buying stuff at ARe today. I got 8 books for less than 15 dollars. Plus my free code. I also know I will be in trouble if they have a sale. I just have too many different places to get books. I am coming up towards 10000 books total with pbooks and ebooks. Since finding you all, I have added almost 2000 free ebooks. My TBR pile is huge.

I just did a purge of some of my free books. But my instinct is to always grab them while they're free because you never know.

Thank goodness for digital. At least they don't take up the same shelf-space. Of course, lack of shelf-space is one of the main reasons I started reading in digital.

I would be buried wirh all my books. I have over 2700 pbooks. I have been into reading ebooks since before there was a kindle. I kept hoping for something better than sony's. When kindle came I seriously thought about it but could not afford it at the time. The ipad came and was so not going there. I knew there was more being built since I use to be in the buisness of building curcit boards. I held out and decieded that the nook was it. I worked overtime to be able to buy my nook 3G.

Now, I still love my pbooks but know I need to donate some. I will have to go through them soon. I will keep all my signed books though. I have the kindle app and my ARe library and my nook. I need to start reading my TBR pile. I have huge plans this summer.

You can always shipped them to me.

I've yet to use ARE I understand how it works I just always forget they are there.

I wont go with how many books I own. I can say my Kindle library is at 4500. I wont say how large my Calibre libraries are though but I'm very close to hitting 10,000

I donated most of my pbooks to the library. That worked well for me.

When I moved a few years ago I gave away over half my print books (about 800). It was hard, but I made myself be as ruthless as possible. My new house just doesn't have the space shelf space. More than half the books I did keep are in tubs.

You'd have to pry them from my hands. When I first got married I had
hundreds of books. My sweet husband had me get rid of them because we moved alot due to him being in USAF. I can't tell you how much I regretted doing that!

To this day there are two books I wanted to read that all I can remember parts of the blurb on back. I can't figure it out no matter how much I google or look. It like they never existed!

The only books I will get rid of are the ones I have in ebook that aren't on my keeper shelf.
