Converting Apple iBooks

Hi everyone,

Sorry to ask this, but I need some direction or help in regards to DRM removal of Apple itunes and getting the books to be readable on my Nook HD+ or even Calibre.

i know this is a touchy subject, so I apologize in advance and would like to explain my situation.

Games Workshop sales Warhammer 40k codex books for $50 retail, but a tad cheaper on Apple's iBooks store, which I prefer as I don't want to have to lug around very nice expensive books to game matches full of food and junk. I rather have a digital copy on my tablet - but I don't have a Apple. idevice to do so currently.

I know there is a way to remove DRM, but what I did to test out Calibre in conversion was that I downloaded free epubs and ibooks from Itunes, and apparently they are DRM free, but Calibre cannot read them and states there are DRM on these books.

anyone have any ideas or insights? I don't want to risk spending $40 on a ibook I can't read - I don't mind paying for the book and doing the labor to convert it over to a PDF or something if needed.

Sorry for being long winded and well, possibly breaking any rules, but I have spent the last few weeks trying to find a convenient way to do this simple thing.

thanks,
Crashed

I have not yet heard of anyone successfully removing the Apple variant of DRM.

We are not allowed to provide guidance on DRM removal here at MR. Please don't ask again.

Hi thanks, I figured I shouldn't be asking for guides and I do know of Apprentice Alf, don't know if it helps. I was hoping if someone could tell me if its possible. Again, I would hate to be forced to buy a ipad for 3 $40 books...

Thanks though for the replies

"Brahms Requiem" - google for it with " drm" on the end - it was working last year.

Intertrust is suing Apple over DRM patents, in 2001 Intertrust got $440M out of M$.
