The Waspinator repels wasps, it does not harm or kill them. It works on a very simple principle: wasps avoid the nests of other wasps. Thanks desertblues, I just looked that one up an it seems to not work for the type of wasp I have. Mine is like the below.

Each year, the paper wasp queen must build a new nest, which she does by masticating wood fibers into a pliable pulp. Once she raises her first generation of workers, these offspring will assume the role of construction workers, expanding the nest to meet the needs of the growing colony. By summer, the paper wasp nest can be quite large, reaching a width of 6-8 inches. In fall, freezing temperatures will kill all but the queen, who seeks shelter and hibernates for the winter. The nest degrades over winter and is rarely reused the next year.

Waiting for my coffee to brew and will enjoy that cup before heading out to run my errands and get the supplies to make the wasp trap.

That nest of wasps looks awful they must be big as well

Honestly, one of those cans of wasp killer that shoot 20+ feet is all you need. Soak the nest, end of problem. Most of them will just fly off, those that do not will die. Simple natural selection for Wasps that leave.

Agreed. And it isn't a spray -- it's a really hard stream. Unless your wind is blowing stronger than 30 mph every day, this ought to work.

Those are perfect I know, but, where the nests are, I have to stand and spray into the wind. It is only blowing about 15 mph today, but still I would have to spray into the wind. This may be the best option for this evening, if the wind doesn't pick up. Going to look for my googles, hat, scarf, and heavy gloves right now.

dreams - if you do knock the nests down with a spray - burn them too! It's the only way to be sure you got all of them - kerosene works well.

Interesting. Of course, this has nothing whatsoever to do with why I drink tea of any kind. And I'm much more partial to China greens than Japanese. Though that is far from absolute.

Today was a mix of China Green and China black while sitting out on the deck, enjoying the sun and reading...

What is it with the fire and burning?
That was a suggestion for getting rid of them or to dispose of them in a sealed plastic bag..

I made a trap and will see what happens. Then when the wind dies down, I will spray, wait, and knock them down.

Fresh coffee in my cup and wondering if 4 double chocolate cookies will go well with my coffee.

In my experience, traps keep the population down, but won't eliminate them.

A medium sized glass of Shiraz in my (very) near future.


My suggestion: Take off and nuke 'em from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.
