Perhaps I'm missing something, but I believe you're asking about sending documents from your desktop to Kindle (rather than the web integration Send to Kindle functionality).

From the FAQs
I installed Send to Kindle on my PC, how can I start using it?
From Windows Explorer, right click on one or more documents and choose Send to Kindle. From any Windows application that can print, select Print and choose Send to Kindle (documents are delivered in PDF format).

There is never an Upload icon on a pc. Just open Windows Explorer and drag and drop the files into the documents folder of the Kindle drive, as it appears in Windows Explorer.

Hi KimberlyFDR, thanks for your response --- but ---- I followed your advice and don't have an option "Send to Kindle" when I right click the file in Windows Explorer. Options are: Bluetooth, Compressed Folder, Desktop, Documents, Fax Recipient, Mail Recipient, Seagate_1TB (D (my backup) and DVD_RW drive (E.
I have converted the files to MOBI format as the PDF format wasn't satisfactory on the Kindle. I have transferred files from Calibre to Kindle before but that was using the 'upload' icon on the Calibre screen. I have 13 other icons (Convert Books, Edit Metadata, Add Books, Remove Books etc.) but not the blue 'upload' one with the upward pointing arrow for sending books.
Any ideas?
Many thanks.

Thanks Susan - I'm looking for the 'Upload icon on the Calibre screen. Sorry I didn't communicate well.

Is your Kindle plugged in to the computer? If it is, can you see it in the list of drives in Explorer ("My Computer")? When my Kindle is plugged in, I see an icon similar to what you're talking about, but it doesn't say "Upload", it says "Send to device". When I eject the Kindle, the icon disappears.

I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like on my computer.

Ah, you didn't specify it was Calibre. I thought you were doing Send to Kindle for PC. Hope shalym's screenshot helped you out

At least on my installation of calibre, I only see the "send to device" icon when my kindle is connected.

Kinda tough to send, otherwise.

Nice thing about the "Send to device" button is that it knows which file format to send to the device that is connected, and converts the file automatically if the file is the wrong type. For me, it's one of the nicest features of calibre.

Hi Guys,
Many thanks for your comments / suggestions. I'm thinking that I may have a fault with my Kindle (or PC?). When I have my Kindle connected to the PC it doesn't show up in File Explorer although the charging light does come on. When I connect iPhone or a memory stick to PC, they do show on File Explorer - looks like a problem with the Kindle eh?
