Ok, now my boos are more subdued. Why? There I was, minding my own business, trying to write a review for a book I just completed, and up pops my Gmail notifier to the lower right of my screen. In that brief flash, I see the word "Lendle" and my concentration is officially broken. Off I went to check it out. I'd forgotten this (

) but when Tangled was released on Monday I went right away to Lendle and requested it before there were any available copies and, wouldn't you know it, someone just loaned it to me! I'm doing a happy dance

If I like it a lot and it shows up at Kobo, I'll still buy it, but I'm happy I don't have to wait to read it.

One of the worse historical I have read and I have read many.
I am so done with this. I really wanted to support the effort of publishing a non regency but it's darn out embarrassing what is being passed off as a historical romance today. Where's the plot? Where's the history? The Characterization? It's just a sexy contemporary in long dresses.

The funny thing is I enjoy the prequel of the series. It's wasn't perfect but it was believable and had a real plot.

Oh my! I just went through and listed all my purchases during my latest splurge.

I discovered that my wish list needs to be split in 2. Stuff I really want and stuff that I want only at a really bargain price ($1.99 or less). That leaves only 1 item on the stuff I really want list - whew!

If you're curious, this is what $150 in gift cards ($100 of which came from a freebie Best Buy gift card I got when cashing in Hilton points), a pile of primo codes and quick trip out of country got me. I still have a $6 balance so not quite done yet.

I'm done with that so called historical romance finally! The review is up. I tried to be as nice as possible. This is last time I do a ARC from this imprint. They just don't have good guidelines.

I'm not doing so well in tapering my shopping this week. The Book fairy keeps showing me goodies.

Ooooh, that's an impressive list! Splitting your list is a great idea - I almost never end up with any non-bargain books at the end of the month having spent my $ all on bargains I didn't know I needed!

Devil in Texas by Calista Fox I give it a solid B+. I feel good but wanted some more closure to some of the story. Still a good summer read. B&N Amz

Oh, I try not to do 2 posts in a row, but today is Cheaper by the Dozen day at RT. I just picked by 6 new books. My fav is Secrets of a Proper Countess by Lecia Cornwall for .99 For eye candy, Cade looks yummy, and for 0.99 I gave him his shot!
