I'm recharging my Sony Reader and putting new batteries in its Lightwedge-enabled cover so that I can have something to occupy my time tonight as I'm hunkered down in the closet under the stairs listening to the roaring winds of Ike. Perhaps I'll read Hurricane Hurry to distract me.

I'm about to go out looking for the dogs again. I was trying to train them to the invisible fence, and they go off their leads and have gone ... somewhere.

Just came back from my favorite tool junkie store with a "Work Sharp" tool sharpener. That's, let's see... the ninth sharpener so far.

Speaking of woodies, er, I mean, woodie workers. Okay, let's start over. Yvan, is this title of any interest to you or the other woodworkers here as an ebook? It looks cool to me but I don't know if it's relevant or desirable. It also looks a bit hard to convert so I didn't want to attempt it without someone saying so. Whaddaya think?

That looks like an extremely interesting book! Not sure I'd be using much of it, since I don't do my own drying, right now, but I would definitely dl it!

Ahh, crap. I'm still working my way through the threads, so I don't know if you've posted updates elsewhere, but, I hope you find them soon, Ricky.

Me, I'm just waiting for the guy to turn up to keep working on our new balcony shutters.

Cheers,
Marc

Unless you have a wood lot, huge warehouses and a passion for chainsaws, it would be highly sterile reading. This book would bring more interest to a wood harvester than a woodworker. Speaking of which, if you do like harvesting, Ike might help harvesters with precious findings. Hurricares and storms of their ilk usually bring down decorative species of trees with interesting value. Owners must call someone to cart them out. It's the perfect deal for the harvester who wants rare species for that special piece of furniture.

I have not read that book but I would venture that its age would work against it as in all older technology. Do you work wood?

The local police and my neighbors helped me to find them. By the time they got home, they were coated with mud and completely exhausted.

Everyone has hurricane refugees staying with them tonight, so of course we had a party for them.

I managed to stay fairly sober, and I am now headed to bed. But, the doggies are safe and sound in their kennel, and blissfully unaware that they did anything at all wrong .... like swimming all the way across to Sunrise Beach, I actually saw them doing that with my own two eyes. The problem is, it's only a few minutes worth of swim, but it's at least a half an hour drive .... so it's really pointless to get in the car and drive over there, because by the time you get there, they've decided to swim back.

Arrrrgh. Dogs.

So did they just walk through the "invisible fence," or were they outside it when they slipped their leashes? It seems a shame if it doesn't work to keep them in the yard, after all the work you went through to put it in.

They ran through the invisible fence .... making a loud yelp and twisting in the air as they were shocked. Landed on the other side and just kept on going.

I turned the fence off so they could come home, but they were out for close to six hours.

I'm going to give them a little more training before we test it again.

I took them on their regular walk today. I've got a list of to dos a mile long, so I didn't want to be taking any chances.

Yes, the flaw being that the animals are insane and apparently love the idea of having shock treatments.

Oh well.
