Where are the converted files

Hallo, I am trying to convert an ebook into a pdf file. For testing the conversion I used the "Calibre Quick Start Guide" as ebook. THe conversion job takes few seconds and then if I click on "show details" button I get log text: the last line says:

"PDF output written to C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Temp\calibre_p3kqs8\_pj vhr.pdf"

But when I open this location there are only some files with a ".pickle" extension a log file. The PDF is not there. And I also don't understand if it is possible to configure a different output location.

Thanks

If you are doing the conversion via the GUI, then the output is put into the same folder as the input format.

If you are converting via the command line then you specify the paths as part of the command line.

Since you are using the Quick Start guide. I'll assume you are using the GUI. The converted book (PDF in this case) was added to the same book record that you started the conversion from.

As long as you are using the GUI there is never a need to poke around in any folders. The book and the formats associated with it are right there in the GUI. Of course if you like poking around feel free, just make sure you add and delete books and files via the GUI or the database gets confused and shortly there after the user often wonders what happened.

If you use the command line you can send the output file anywhere you like, but if you use the GUI it is as itimpi states above.
