No e-book edition for new Stephen King thriller

I honestly don't think King really cares at this point. He could publish his book using monkey's blood on vellum made from the scrotums of albino wombats and it probably wouldn't hurt his sales. He's released ebooks in the past (including an ebook-only story) and I'm sure he'll release more in the future. I don't think his little "pulp experiment" should be construed as any kind of broad condemnation of ebooks altogether.

It may be an idiomatic reference to 'stirring the pot,' which means to create tension and/or drama.

I don't think that either. I don't buy fiction books in physical format any more. I purchase them all as ebooks. Since he has chosen to not publish Joyland in ebook format (which he has every right to do) I will not be reading it. As I said earlier, I won't pirate the book, I'll just find something else to read.

His comment is not nearly as arrogant as yours. He *wrote* the book; he can do whatever he wants with it. He doesn't have to answer to you or to any other self appointed internet guardians of authorial hubris.

While Mr. King can indeed do whatever he wants with his book, the same freedom of choice applies to Skydog, would you agree?

When a book is offered for sale, those "whims" become customer demands or expectations, conditions for sale.
