The HQN code didn't work for me. I'm curious, for those that used it, was the free book based on list price or sale price?

Wow, you guys all did great!
I behaved pretty well, the most expensive was the 2nd Lauren Abrams book which I got with a Kobo coupon, and I was very happy to spend it anyways, I hope those who bought them [Loosheesh] enjoy them as much as I did, I was so very pleasantly surprised!

Lost to You – A.L. Jackson
Every Rose – Lynetta Halat
There is no Light in Darkness – Claire Contreras
Friend Zoned – Belle Aurora
One Reckless Summer – Toni Blake
Inhale Exhale – Sarah M. Ross
Falling into Forever – Lauren Abrams
Until I Break - M. Leighton

I won't say which one I was most disappointed in, I'm sure you can tell by now , but all the rest besides that one and Lauren Abrams were $.99 so I'm proud of myself. BTW the Toni Blake was all you in this threads fault!

ack, add 1 more to my list. I just went to check my wishlist before I started reading my book and ended up grabbing another $.99er. I've had this on my list since it came out [wow, a whole 3 weeks I waited! ] Sounds like a love it or hate it from Goodreads.
Playing Patience by Tabatha Vargo
blurb:
Sometimes all you need is Patience.

Life’s been hard for Zeke. Being a punching bag for his alcoholic father has turned him into stone. Not even the dodgy trailer park he lives in can scare him. Fighting is his release and sex, drugs, and his guitar bring him peace, but deep down Zeke isn’t quite as hard as he makes himself out to be. When he meets Patience, she finds all his broken pieces and puts him back together, but she’s a ray of light in his shadowed life and the last thing he wants to do is bring her into his dark world. Playing careless is easy, playing the bad guy can be fun, but playing Patience is impossible, especially when she can see right through him.

Zeke isn’t the only one who’s broken, and for the first time, in a long time, Patience feels alive. Her black and white world gets a shot of color when she meets Zeke. He’s unlike anyone she’s ever met with his tattoos, piercings, and blunt honesty. She wants nothing more than to let go and ride the wild side with him, but some wounds never heal and the broken pieces of Patience aren’t so easy to find.

***Warning: this book contains graphic language, sex, and violence. Mature readers only. Not intended for young adult readers.***

apesmom, you will love Frost Burned! Ok, I've 5-starred the full Mercy Thompson and Alpha & Omega series so my objectivity can (ha!) be called into question but I seriously think you'll love this one

I'm 30% into the Toni Blake book and it's quite good so far.

All three of the books were the same price. I did only have to pay the sale price for the other two.

Oh I know! I love this series. Fair Game has almost worked it's way to the top of my TBR pile, and now this one to look forward to as well.

So many good books to read, so little time!

I have no idea when I'm going to read all of these! Here's a great example, I bought the Alpha& Omega books in 2012, maybe even earlier, haven't even read 1 yet!

But yes, I agree about reading an old favorite, I recently re-read one along with a friend who was reading at the same time and I felt like I was cheating or something!

And, I'm not saying I didn't buy it, but here's another really great sounding $.99er, Taking Shots by Toni Aleo, it's also available at Kobo but published so not couponable.

I need to walk away...

What I was curious about is what were you charged for the books you bought.

Assuming all 3 books are identically priced:
Price per book on list price $4.99 * 2/3 = $3.33 per book
Price per book on sale price $3.99 * 2/3 = $2.66 per book

If it's on the sales price it's a pretty good deal, if on list then I can do better at Kobo at the moment.

Thanks! I guess I need to check with customer service.

Why does Harlequin have such a hard time with it's sales codes? It seems like every time the code is not working until someone complains.

Omigosh, you have the Alpha & Omega books since 2012 and you haven't read them?!! You need to drop everything else and read them. Now!

And yes, enabler, you need to walk away and stop posting books!

The cover alone may be worth it!

I'm literally LOL, I bought the Mercy Thompson series too, must have been a sale! I bought both series March 2012, haven't read 1 of those yet either. Now see, if I keep moving stuff up in my TBR pile, it makes it even harder to pick! So which series do I move up first, Mercy Thompson or Alpha & Omega?
*notices I'm still not reading my actual book yet*

Yes, um, the cover is very artistic

The Mercy Thompson books as well?! I. Can't. Even. Speechless here

As to which series to start with, I read Alpha & Omega books first (not by design, it just happened that way). I think you can start with either one and it won't matter. There is a little overlap between the two series but nothing spoiler-y.
