If similar to Pearl in experience, I will buy it instantly at <$300, and will probably buy it if <$500.

Very interesting specs, but Sony ereader will be a tough sell to the general consumer.

If the reader is in the +$200 range it has to complete against iPad and android tablets.

A friend saw a sample last year. It looked a bit on grayish side (LCD screen looking). I am hoping it is improved to Eink Pearl standard now. I'll take dark printer, whiter background over front light.

I am impressed by the weight at this size. Congratulations to the Sony engineers responsible for this project !
A higher resolution, android, a front-light and it would be perfect !

Only a 150 dpi screen so not very good on the eyes. And why would anyone want to view PDFs on a darn eInk device that is as slow as molasses? Reading PDFs in the best of conditions still sucks, so better to have a fast and capable LCD tablet. I think if this device is real then Sony is about 3 or 4 years too late.

I can read PDFs fine on my M92. Page turn speed is very fast.
I expect the same performance from this reader

What about zoom/pan speed? That's usually the issue with PDFs.
