[KUAL] Turn OFF button \ Выключение устройства (кнопка)

like in any OS

Current Version: 1.0

SLEEP SUPPORTS:

INSTALLATION: extract archive to Extension folder like any KUAL extension

REQUIRES: KUAL

HALT: This is button for TurnOff Kindle and save battery charge.
SLEEP: Suspend mode (like long pressing of power button)

thanks.

anyway that the "off" screen can be customized. currently it's actually using the start up splash image. it's just a little confusing i guess. it would be better if it displays a blank screen and better still if we have a choice of what image(s) to display while in the "off" mode, including a blank screen.

i know that there are those in this forum who would truly appreciate the ability to completely turn off the paperwhite kindle front light (i looked in a really dark room...the screen is truly off...no front light at level 0...truly off). and the magnetic cover does not work to switch it out of standby. does that mean that the kindle is completely turned off?

Read the kernel's message buffer right after you start it back up.
The messages will tell you what state if is re-starting from.

There is a KUAL.button for that purpose, the: copy dmesg -> document button.

later i`ll make kindlet with picture (like shutdown button) with update_install.bin package.

i was referring to the fact that when you shutdown the kindle, it displays the start-up screen with the "Please wait a moment while your Kindle starts up" message. is there a way to customize the screen image that's shown while in the "off" state?

tried both on my PW..
but, KUAL menu shows blank buttons.. labels not visible..

further..
sleep -- works ok..

halt -- halts at "please wait a moment while your kindle starts up" screen.. need to do a long press to reboot again..

Exactly what you wanted, cpu **off** rather than **suspended**.

ok.. understood.. that message on the screen confused me..
btw.. the blank labels in KUAL are due to the name entry starting with a "*" in the json file.. removing it fixed it.. don't know if this is an issue for PW only..
