Picked up my ST at John Lewis today. The lady at the collections counter told me that they'd sold a lot of them over the last couple of days.

I'll have a play with it when I get back from this weekend's camping trip, but at that price you can't go wrong. |

I finally weakened and ordered the Simple Touch from Waitrose, hubby picks it up tomorrow for me. I want to see what the NOOK is like plus I have 180 books in my Nook library due to the Fictionwise transfer. I couldn't justify the extra £40 for the Glow though, not for curiosity. Just need to get a cheap case now.

Edited to say I uped my order to the Glowlight. I have a few too many Kindle cases plus I'll sell my Kindle Keyboard wifi to help fund it. I saw a you tube video on PDFs on a non routed Glow using the stock PDF functionality, if the reflow works like that for me then the Nook is worth its weight in Gold. I received my Nook Simple touch this morning. I've registered it and I'm now charging it up. The bulid quality is quite impressive, not loaded any books on there yet, will do so later on when it's finished charging.

I've recieved mine as well, its charging up nicely. I have registered with NOOK.UK and my 178 books from Fictionwise showed up. I have already loaded an epub, and 10 PDF's, all text only with just a cover picture, some bought and some fan fic and I'm so happy I can now read PDF's on an ereader, text size 3 or 4 is perfect. No issues at all so far, I've even created a few shelves.

My KPW will always be my main reader I wanted the Nook for PDF reflow and so far its perfect out of the box. I got it from John Lewis so I have a two year warrently as well. |

Have you tried the glo light out yet? How is it compared to the Paperwhite light? |

The KPW is a better light imo, its cleaner and has no blue strip along the top, but I have no issues with the Glowlight, it does what I need it to do which is allow me to read the screen in low light. I only really want the Nook for the PDFs tbh so I can't see me using it more than my KPW anyway. I was going to get just the Simple Touch but I'm glad I got the glow. I justified it as 1.67 a month for two years, I could spend that on batteries for a clip on light!

I like what I see so far, and the Nook has potential its just the settings etc are much more basic than on the Kindle, so many things I take for granted as standard i can't do on the Nook. The Kindle functionality is cleaner and can do more generally. For me its just the PDF reflow is the one thing the Nook has that the Kindle doesn't.

If Nook want to play with Amazon they need to up their game with the software as well as the hardware. |

I actually spotted about half a dozen pin prick holes this morning in the glowlight so hubby is taking it back for a refund. As I only want it to read PDFs on I'll just get the Simple Touch and use a clip on light. If Nook bring out a newer model that's much improved then I'd defiantly be interested in it, but it needs to be as good as the KPW with PDF reflow.
