The people who do the majority of the work are turning out better work than you could hope to hire in the world of embedded programming.

A grayed install usually means that the package you are trying to install is not for that device.

First four characters of the device's serial number please.

Was not able to confirm in your video that this device DOES NOT have the "Special Offers".
Please state if this is a device with or without the "Special Offers".

Is this device registered?

Please answer all three questions.

It hasn't the "Special Offers" (when I lock it, just shows some random wallpapers, no ads...)

The device is registered on my user account at Amazon (ambrgo@gmail.com);

Series number not in our list of known Kindle series:

The installation packages will have to be updated to recognize B020 if they do not now.
That is most likely why you have a grayed-out install on your device.

Please provide the additional information, typical of what is shown in the series list (country of purchase, wireless configuration).

I took the liberty of changing the foruns's wiki (https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kindle_Serial_Numbers) to insert a new range of Kindle devices.

Amazon started new operations in Brazil this year. It is the first time that devices are being approved here. So I ask you please to consider also the devices started with B020 (first serial number letters) at compile time installation packages

Collections manager start but nothing listed
JBPatch installed without error, but just the framework working, the patches are not compatible.

Expected, the only reason for Amazon to create a new firmware seems to be making jbpatch not working. Big THX Amazon...

This update actually does provide worthwhile features that were present in the K4 but vanished in the Touch, to wit the ability to search for a highlighted term.

Can anyone please post a statement about whether or not the jailbreak works on 5.3.5? ("works" as in "installs correctly, i.e., can jailbreak a non-jailbroken device", not as in "survives the update from a previously jailbroken version" - the latter is old news).

The bridge appears to have operated as expected (as already known), and the actual jailbreak appeared to function completely as expected on my non-jailbroken Paperwhite. However, I am not 100% confident of the latter, as that device was jailbroken in the past, so you will want a more competent helper or a brave soul with a factory-fresh Kindle.
