I sent it to my Kindle archive for after I finish The Bet; had to make my eyes glaze over when I got to the page because I didn't want to get spoilered.
I plan to read Elite next I was going to read True but this one took over my interest of all previous NA books on my Kindle.

You're going to love the paperwhite and be sure to visit the fonts thread in the Kindle Forum for it. Lots of nice fonts to help make that perfect reading experience. Did you get the official case too? I just love mine.

on the Worth the Wait book. I'll put it on my TBR list. I am wading through over 200 Crimson Romance titles and trying to pick out the ones that look like something I would read. I am disappointed in the whole new releases every Monday claim. It looks like they update it whenever.

You can't ask that question! It makes me go look at my Kindle Library and go OMG I bought THAT many books?!?! I don't know if I should be or or or Prolly all of the above

I'll be reading until well past my own death. What kind of ereader do you think they have in heaven? Assuming that's where I land
That is me too. Hubby keeps saying you got enough already. I just at him. I asked because I am looking for things to add to my wishlist or buy if it's really good.

I tell hubby Freebies don't count.

Yes, I bought the official case; the persimmon one

I had to talk myself out of signing up for Crimson Romance when you first posted about it. Sometimes (not often ) I get this scary idea that I'm turning into some sort of book-hoarding monster; I have no idea what that's about though

I have no problem hoarding ebooks. I'm all for giving new publishers a try. It was too good of deal to pass up. My only peeve is there is no blurb on the epubs. I had to add every one in Calibre.

The persimmon cover is very pretty. I got plain black because I got mine for 30% off but I would've got that one if it had been a choice.

I've been having the same thoughts all week. I can either get serious about the ebook addicts thread or I can congratulate myself for my charitable support of writers and books.

I have a confession. I really can't get into Kristen Ashley's writing style. I don't know why, I've tried several of her books, and I just don't enjoy her. I must say, though, I really enjoyed the SBTB podcast from this past week with her. If you're a fan of hers, take a listen. You, too, might get addicted to the SBTB podcast!

Has anyone read Connected by Kim Karr? It's $3 but I just read that she is signing with Penguin, which of course means the price will jump... it's only been out since March.

Aside from books from this thread I bought:
Loving Miss Darcy by Nancy Kelley (I'm a JAFF addict!)
Awake: A Fairytale by Jessica Grey (YA fairy tale retelling; I highly recommend her novel Attempting Elizabeth -> more JAFF)
Forever My Girl by Heidi McLaughlin

This next week is going to be brutal with Kobo's current coupon contest!

I've been watching Connected since it came out, I've been so tempted! Blossom advised me that there was a huge cliffhanger so I had decided to wait, looks like I'll be buying it at Kobo with a coupon before it jumps then. Thank you for letting me know! [ETA that it's not at Kobo so I paid full price at Amazon, oh well. ]

I just read Forever My Girl by Heidi McLaughlin this week. I really liked it, very real story and well written IMO.

OMGosh you guys are all killing me! I've spent so much money, and it gets worse each month not better! But like I said earlier, in the long run I'm saving money because I get them on sale [mostly] so...there!

Blossom you asked about recommendations. I did read TRUE by Erin McCarthy and thoroughly enjoyed it. I gave it a 4.

Another book I read this week that I really enjoyed was The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher. It was VERY different [and I like that], well written, a bit dark [you may or may not like the main female]. But yes, I really recommend it if you're looking for something totally different. Think of a modern-day and darker 'Gone With the Wind'.

I really appreciate everybody posting new finds [Loosheesh and Blossom, I bought Elite by Rachel Van Dyken last night just because you were both so excited about it, didn't even preview it, just pressed 'buy now'.
And now I'm reading 'The Bet', and enjoying it. So please, when you find out about new releases that sound great and you're excited about, continue to post them here too!

You know me I will always rave about a good book!

That's great you enjoyed True. She has gotten alot of people who are snubbing her because she is a romance writer trying to break into NA Territory. I wouldn't thought we find this kind snobbery but there seems to be some unwritten rule that established mainstream authors can't go there. I do realize these well known authors are more restricted in writing a story than a indie author picked up by the big 6. They don't have the freedom to write outside of the traditional guidelines unless they self publish. I think they gave away the story in hopes of some good reviews left in return.

One of the main problems I read in the reviews was this is the same story line nothing new. It got me thinking that NA reader are so use to new inventive plots and characters they don't realize that in romancelandia that cookie cutter plots are the norm. You're not going to get much new original content when you got a big publisher dictating how the story goes.

I plan to read Elite but right now I am doing something new. I out of the blue requested ARC of paranormal werewolf book by a digital publisher. The author has been published before by Avon Impulse and I enjoyed her Vampire stories So I am reading that right now.
It's one of the those free copy in exchange of a honest review offers. I've never done this before so I thought I give it a shot.

KA isn't for everyone. Her characters are pretty cookie cutter. What I mean is she uses the same type of hero and heroine not that she her characters are like other romance books because they are not. They are KA characters. You got the heroine who doesn't want the hero and fights him tooth and nail and you got the hero who is a caveman who doesn't care what the heroine wants they are getting together and she better get use to it. Same story but told in different ways. Some heroines give in sooner than others but yeah it can get old quick. She is great at world building though. I think that is where her strength comes in. I will never look at Denver the same way again.

I am slowly catching up on the podcasts I think I'm on the 22nd one now. I am OCD and must listen in order.

That's it exactly! We're supporting writers - that's the story and I'm sticking to it!
In that case, here are a few I bought this week:
I agree writers must eat! I was just reading yesterday that when Colleen Hoover published Slammed she lived in a trailer and was working a 9 dollar an hour job trying to support her kids. She couldn't afford a good cover for her book so she went with a free one. Now she is a mainstream published author and well on her way. I love stories like that!

I think it's ridiculous she's being snubbed. If the author is writing a different type of genre because they genuinely want to, that's great, why shouldn't they get to spread their wings if they can! The only time I have a problem with it is if they're doing it just to make money, not for the artistic endeavor. But I guess that's how I feel about all authors, it should be because they genuinely want to, not because of money.

As for cookie cutter plots, this is why when I stumble across something that is different, I usually get excited about it. Don't get me wrong, if the writing is great I don't care how predictable the story is [to a degree]. But if the writing is good and has a different plot, that's what I enjoy most.

That is so cool, you'll have to let us know how it goes for you. I think I'd be too worried about doing a well written review! Good luck!
