I usually follow this with "... but since Kroger doesn't carry possum and squirrel, I substitute chicken, pig, and cow."

You can't eat platypus! That's crazy talk. That's like saying "I'm just going to deep-fry this itty-bitty little kitty-cat". Platypus are cute-cute-cute (well, except for whole "poisonous spur on rear leg thing that will cause extremities of pain enough to make you see through time" thing).

Roo, croc, or emu, however, are totally fair game (roo's a very low fat meat, too, and tasty, as long as you only cook it "rare").

Have you checked behind the lounge? In the glovebox of the car? In the back of the third drawer down in the kitchen? In the big box in the garage that has "HEMOSTATS HERE!" written on the side in big, black texta?
