You're right, you didn't, lol.

I still think it's unfair comparing two very similar features when the consequences of what they address are so different in magnitude...but you also consider the auto-lock on your car a dubious feature, so I guess that's a moot point. I thought you were trying to say that this is a good feature on the Kobo because it is a good feature on a car.

Thank you for this information! I now have auto-sleep time set to "Never" and the bug is no longer a problem. : -)

Interesting! I changed my Sleep Settings to Never/Never to test this, put the device to sleep, woke, and after 3 mins, neither the light nor sleep happened. I then changed my Settings to 15 mins/15 mins, put to sleep, woke, and still nothing happened for 3 mins. I tried this five more times, and the device still didn't auto sleep after waking for at least 3 minutes. I'll test this again after a longer sleep period and report back.

Tested again after a long sleep. That didn't fix the bug

More that it was a feature that was added with no real need or benefit. A solution in search of a problem. Feeping creaturitis strikes again.

Hmm... how many cliches can I string together?

David

IIRC, from what I found, it has to get past the auto-sleep time (15 mins) in this case before it's activated. If you sleep it before that point, you can't reproduce the bug.
