Unless a paranoid is completely off the internet, even a casual comment in a forum, or a transfer on a single connected computer, can trigger the government to break down your door and seize your computers. Even a neighbor or friend's comments about subversive or illegal activities can lead to an invasion of your home. The problem with sneakernet among friends is that all it takes is one friend ratting out another on threat of prosecution, to break the ring.

The question is not the risks one voluntarily takes, but the ones he/she has no control (or even awareness of).
