Being unaccountably nervous about my first day of classes as an official doctoral student (at this university-- I was two years into the program at another university before changing jobs and moving).

Hm... where did I put the chocolate? Chocolate helps everything....

Waiting for the cricket to start and praying that South Africa make a game of it this time. I don't mind that we lose but good grief, the last few games I barely make it through a pot of tea and it's all over.

I'm in Cardiff and it is pelting down like ramrods. And there's a strong wind. I wouldn't expect much (or any) cricket today.

I would hope that England leap frog us in the standings even if we win this one. You should have seen the S.A commentator here in SA when he heard it had rained every day for the past month in Cardiff. He almost fell off his chair. We haven't had a drop of rain in 4 months, winter is dry here. Wish it would rain

I wish that you could have ours. It has been the wettest summer here for a long time. I want to mow the lawn. But every time I even think about it, it rains.
