Oh ... no .... I can't miss this party. I really really can't. Tom & Lisa are coming over from Llano (Tom & Lisa are friends of Slayda's cousin who lives in Llano), and Tom makes THE BEST BURGERS EVER!!! I kid you not. Even those of us who try our hardest to be vegetarian loooooove these burgers. He makes them from a mixture of meats, and just thinking about them makes me hungry.

And, all of the Moon's children and grandchildren will be there (Cole and Tiffany are here from Los Angeles, and Misty and Maggie are up from San Marcos), and a bunch of other people that I really like will be there (I think there's going to be about 30 or so people).

Nope .... not going is not an option. Might sleep on a heating pad tonight ... maybe. I know ... I'll coat myself in linament!! I'll smell like all hell, but then everyone is used to me smelling like a bottle of horse linament.

My internal chemistry has been taking a lot of abuse since before I can even remember. I am a cockroach after all. (skitter skitter skitter skitter) I'll be the one thing that climbs out from under the rubble when all about is dust. Probably complaining of a bad back and looking for vicodin.

Why, yes ... actually it is. The party is down at the boat/pool house, which is about a three minute walk. However, since it is getting dark about 8:00 these nights, I will likely drive, simply because I'd rather take my chances in the car than with the snakes or the resident mountain lion.

Especially not while I have Tom's burgers on my breath. That's certain to draw a lion or two right there.

Texas seems like a very hostile environment.

Sometimes TGIF can last a whole weekend. Yesterday was a magic day, and we went for a long walk and got a little sun-colour to the face on the way. Today it's even warmer, and so we're going to bake on the beach and go for our first swim of summer in the ocean (which is nice, since it's actually the last day of winter here).

When you're retired, every day is Friday.

I wish I had a sofa 8 feet long. Mine is just a standard 5.5 feet. 8 feet is about the length of my car.

They are actually making a comeback all along the South. A niece's kids brought home a bunch of kittens. So cute! A couple of weeks later, animal rescue had to come get them, because they got big really fast and were actually ripping the walls in the house, you know, after they finished off the furniture and kids arms/legs. Shredded the carpet!

The female that hunts here is only about six feet or so. But when she roars at you ... you'd swear she was much bigger.

I do my best to avoid her when she's hungry or cranky.
