How can I tell how much space is left on my Paperwhite?
I fear that I have too many books on my kindle and I am using up all of the available space on it. How can I tell how much space I have left.

How does 1,255 megabytes translate into gigabytes? Is that 1.2 gigs?

Yup. To be precise, it's 1.22 GB.

If you have that much space left, you are in no danger of running out of room. I have less space than that left on mine, but almost 1GB.

I currently have 638 books on my PW, and 598 MB free.

It also depends on how big a given file is. The smaller the average book file is the more you can fit into the available space. I mean you can fit fifty 1mb books into a 50mb space or one hundred 500kb books into the same space for example.

Hi All,
Is there any way to increase the memory of KPW by putting in more RAM etc? Thanks. |

No, there isn't. But do you really need more? I would consider the ability to carry around over 1000 books to be pretty satisfactory.
If you do need more, you can store them in a Cloud service, or access them from a WiFi enabled external disk. |

nope. And it's flash memory what's discussed here - but the answer is valid for both RAM and flash.
