Call for testers
It's been a while since my last release of calibre, and there've been a lot of
changes to its plumbing, so I need testers. Only volunteer if you are willing to have things break. Some of the changes:
So if you're willing to test, follow the steps outlined below:
If the GUI doesn't start try running (on non linux systems, on linux just run calibre in a terminal) Code:
calibre-debug -c "from calibre.gui2.main import main; main();" If something critical breaks and you want to go back to the old calibre, just uninstall and re-install the old calibre and you should be OK. EDIT: For linux users, you should first install the binary distribution of calibre from https://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/download_binary, then just extract the contents of the beta tarball on top of the old installation. Edit: What's the calibre-0.4.84b1-i686.tar.bz2 install procedure? Edit: never mind Last edited by JeffElkins; 09-15-2008 at 02:50 PM. |

Also on linux the calibre-debug trick wont work. You can just run calibre in a terminal to see any debugging output.

Won't add books
Hi, I get "ERROR: Unhandled exception" when I click "Add Books."
Here are the details: get() takes no keyword arguments Detailed traceback: Traceback (most recent call last): File "main.py", line 456, in add_books File "calibre\gui2\__init__.pyo", line 373, in choose_files File "calibre\gui2\__init__.pyo", line 309, in __init__ TypeError: get() takes no keyword arguments I'm running Windows XP Home Edition, 32-bit. Just to make sure, I uninstalled calibre and reinstalled. Same thing. |
