Most high-end screen protectors have a silicone based adhesive that don't leave any residue when removing them.
That the case for the Brando and Exim brand (I tried these brands, both are very good). Just be careful of the "10 DIY protector for 1$" deal you can sometimes find. These protectors are generally awful.

I concur with the others who mentioned that a screen protector for the Sony Reader is not really needed. The screen isn't touch-screen and the system comes with a nice case that protects it when not in use, so I (nor my wife) has had a need for a screen protector since the time the PRS-500 was initially released. I'll keep my $20 as an investment for the next-gen Sony that comes out (sorry Kindle... alas, your aesthetic appeal is just not there). ;p

I would generally agree with this notion, that a screen protector, seeing as it is not a touch screen. However, having just recently bought mine; I was thinking this may not be a bad idea. I am constantly getting thumb print smudges, not to mention cigarette ashes (blush).

I like the screen on mine. But I am afraid of tarnishing it, if you will.

You can eliminate the ashes by not smoking. You can spend your ciggy budget on books too.
