0.7.0 kept Appcrash-ing on opening (Windows 7). Run Registry Fix, RegCure, chkdsk, everything. No go. Went back to 0.6.2, everything's fine again. Waiting for 0.7.1.

			Hi, I don't know what changed in this version to cause this situation, but now when I open some books, the cover image is displayed differently. For example, I do something like this in the cover.xhtml file: Code: <head>
  <title>Cover</title>
<style type="text/css">
@page {padding: 0pt; margin:0pt}
            body { text-align: center; padding:0pt; margin: 0pt; }
            div { margin: 0pt; padding: 0pt; }
  img.sgc-1 {height: 100%}
</style>
</head>
<body>
  <div><img alt="Cover" class="sgc-1" src="../Images/cover.jpg" /></div>
</body>I'm using 'height: 100%' when the cover images are big. I thought this wasn't suppose to affect the verical/horizontal ratio. Thanks in advance for your help—and great job on this new version! Michael |

			Yeah, I had the same reaction; but a quick check showed that everything displayed correctly in the reader software I use for quality control.

			Two very minor things, and they might be due to my very elderly HP computer ( running XP Pro SP3). Occasionally, but not predictably, if I have multilple instances of Sigil 7 open, then close one, it shuts down and then presents windows Memory Access error message. (Files save ok, shuts down ok, but get the error message *afterwards*) Second -- I cannot seem to open large epubs with v 7. I know that over 10mb won't open, but I haven't fine-tuned to find the actual boundary. These same files open fine in earlier versions. When I double-click in my file manager, Sigil never finishes loading and I have to kill the process with Task Manager. When I try to open a large epub from the Sigil interface, choose the file, the file browser grays out and Sigil freezes, and I have to kill it with Task Manager. As I said, these might be due to gremlins in my computer. But if the problems are of interest to the programmers, I can research further and post more detailed information. |

No problem on saving, then closing 2 simultaneous Sigil Edits. If you don't have over 1G RAM, your system may be using Virtual Memory (a section of your HD). Run the CheckDisk tool: repair (Will ask if you want to do on the next reboot: YES ). Reboot (and wait for it to complete) If you system HAS lots of RAM, you might get a 'Live CD' that contains: Memtest86 (Ubuntu Live CD's have this, but you can download a MEMTEST86 ISO and burn the CD). Boot the CD and let it run till it ends at least 1 full pass (HOURS of running, plan on a overnite run) or the screen starts showing multiple RED lines (The eek, means you should at least re-seat the RAM, clean FAN and CPU Fins and try 1 more time before heading to the RAM store)

			Make sure firefox is not open in the background. It consumes a lot of resources.

			@mrmikel, not a Firefox user. Opera v 11, which IS sometimes a hog if lots of tabs are open. @theducks, thank you for the suggestions. I have 2 GB ram, but will try the Checkdisk and see where I land. I know I don't have much hard-drive space left, and it may be time to move some files to an external drive. |

get sysinternals: pagedefrag.exe or 1) close all programs. 2) defrag your Hard drive. 3) disable your Pagefile (on all drives). Reboot required. 4) defrag the HD again 5) enable the Pagefile on the fastest/widest channels (SATA/PATA) only (you can limit to a single non-removable drive if you have more than 1) I set mine to fixed 2G start, 3.3G max, Reboot required

			It seems Windows 7 handles memory challenged computers better. But my 10 year laptop couldn't use it. No support for the video chip!

			I've found a bug in 0.7.0 for Windows running under Windows 7. When I select a few lines to be search/replaced out, the S&R won't find them even in the same file I selected them from. Even a single line is an issue. This does include the end-of-line marker. So if I was to have... 1 2 3 4 5 and I selected 2, 3 & 4 with the cursor sitting at the beginning of 5, the S&R will not find anything. Even if I was to do the same thing with just 3 with the curser at the beginning of 4, it still fails to find. |
