definitely !! that was one of the great things about the paris meetup, getting to look at all the different devices and talk about our experiences. i was quite pleased that my eb1150 made quite a good impression.

True, very true: one can but try.

If we can persuade Waterstones' to add their stock of PRS-505, will they count?

Alternatively, we could just declare our count in binary...

BTW, do we want to give a nominal "end time" (i.e. when we'll definitely still be around until)?

that may be a good idea just in case there are people who might be planning to stop by later ; it would be a shame if they got there 15 minutes after all the others left. alternately you could plan to go all night long !!!

So, what's the word?
How many are coming?

I might come from Sweden, but only if there will be more than 3-4 interested.

I can confirm that I will be there for sure. As mentioned I will bring the PRS-505 and if anyone is interested I can bring the Sony Accessories (AC Adaptor + Leather Case), will also bring a camera and maybe the laptop if anyone wants to see the Connect software and Calibre in action.

I've been keeping a list of attendees (post 18 in this thread) and so far we have 4 confirmed, with quite a range of readers.

(Maybe Zelda could move that post to the top in this thread? Is that possible? Please?)

I'd be really curious to see a readius too. And I'm sure we'd all be interested in having a look at the Sony accessories, richyhu (in fact if everyone could bring any and all accessories of their readers, that would probably be nice).

I have to say that I am really sad at the progressing demise of my ebookwise - it does everything I want it to and lies superbly in the hand (changing hands and orientation is so easy). On the other hand, I do have eye problems, so I am looking forward to having an e-ink screen.

And I think you've also got two possible attendees as well, haven't you? (And maybe some partners....)

I'm pretty certain there are other London(ish) MR-folks, so we might pick up a few more people over the next week as well (and some devices).

Those attending could also edit their signatures (you can do this via the "User CP" menu) to include details of the meeting. (IIRC Kudos&Karma to RWood for this idea; apologies if it was someone else's idea)

I think I'm coming as well.

I have been waiting for a meeting like this since I joined Mobileread. I will bring all my stuff listed under my name plus an 9" eee pc. What I'm really looking forward is to meet other iLiad users. (and to find out how my old iLiad compares with theirs).

Would love to come along to your meeting on the 6th.

I've recently purchased an ebw 1150 and have just purchased an ebook in MS Reader format as I understood that it could be converted and then copied into my ebookwise 1150.

However, the book has downloaded direct to the MS Reader application and is not visible as a separate file (which I had expected)

Is there a way to get the file out of the MS Reader application or is it encrypted?

No doubt these, and other questions can be answered on the 6th!

Yay, another ebookwise fan! Someone with the same name too (Leseratte = Readalot in english).

MS Reader... I'm not an expert with the conversion stuff ( I mostly buy BAEN or from fictionwise or make my own books to read fanfiction from Word documents). As far as I understand they are convertible, but only if there is no DRM (and the book you bought very likely has DRM). Best to ask this question on the ebookwise forum.

hi readalot and welcome ! great to have another member at the meetup.

i don't want to hijack this thread but i suggest that you take a look at the ebookwise dedicated forum where you will find a LOT of ressources for the brilliant device that is the eb1150 (i love mine !). getting .lit format books to convert is an excellent choice ; take a look at the lit2imp conversion tool by nrapallo ; this will allow you to convert your books with one click in approximately, oh, 4.7 seconds. (okay, i did not actually measure the time. but it's really fast. and easy ). the file itself will probably be found in a folder in your "my documents" folder called something like "my ebooks" or similar. it's definitely somewhere on your hard drive, anyway, and can be accessed without going through the reader app.

have fun converting and reading.

we now return you to your regularly scheduled topic.

I will try and be there. I have just moved here from the US for three months. I have a PRS 505 which I can bring. Could you tell me what the nearest tube stop is. Is it Kings Cross/St Pancras?
