Thank you. I did that already and i could see new fonts in FBReader and cool reader but how do i change fonts in pdf reader.
I am trying to read epub file in pdf reader and i cannot figure out how to change font in it. I do not see an option "font family" in pdf reader submenu. Also can we add fonts to the default font menu and what does default font do w.r.t. pdf reader? |

I'd like to edit shutdown.png and I've read around here that you can do this editing the zip update. I wonder if it is safe to "re-update" the firmware again to the same version just to edit this stuff. I wonder too if I can do the same with OTFM and if this would be safe also, I've read somewhere that OTFM could corrupt the files sometimes when it writes to the internal partition (I'm not sure if this is true or not).

Hello Mhaly,
are you talking about the shut-down or the stand-by picture? When you shut down the boox there is normaly no picture only if you enter the stand-by mode. If you want an shut-down picture you can take any picture and name it shutdown.png. Then you put it in /usr/share/gui_shell/images The stand-by pictures shoult ber named screen_saver0.png, screen_saver1.png and so on. They should be put in \usr\share\system_manager\images |

When I open the following PDF ( http://www.stat.columbia.edu/~liam/r...pubs/cns04.pdf ), when I switch to the second page from the first one, the PDF reader stops rendering pages. It still responds to buttons, i.e. I can go back and forth, but the screen is no longer updated. I have already run into this with another PDF.
Does this also happen with the beta PDF readers? Are there any ETAs on when the next full firmware release will be available, so that I can upgrade? P.S. Just overcame my fears and installed 2 PDF reader patches one after another. It seems that this fixes the reading of this PDF file... I will also try with the others that didn't work before. P.P.S. So with the new reader I can reproduce the bug too, but before you switch to the second page, the reader should be put in the annotation mode first. If annotating is not enabled, the pages switch just fine. Last edited by zaytsev; 02-14-2013 at 10:39 AM. |

I'm not sure I have the last version of the firmware because I don't remember having seen the Odd/Even Manual Setting in the menu. I cant't verify now because the battery seems off and I have nothing right now to charge it. Talking about the battery, I'm going to open a new thread about it because I don't understand at all why it empties so fast... |

the file name is update-20121113, but the official guide tells me to rename the file with the name 'onyx_update.upd', rename? The file is compressed and a password, but I do not know what it is. You have to unzip it and place it on a SD? |

Do not rename it, do not unpack it. Copy the file as-is to your SD card.

Does anyone else have this problem? I routinely put my M92 into standby mode (by pressing the power button), rarely ever doing a full shutdown, and it seems to wake up on its own, eventually time out, and go back into standby. The only reason I can usually tell is because the standby image will sometimes be different from how I left the device. I did actually once manage to catch the device turning itself back on (without any input from me, which is the bug).
Unfortunately I can't seem to consistently recreate this bug, but the two applications I use quite frequently are the built-in scribble app and the new PDF reader (updated to the latest firmware from January 2nd). I believe I've run into this problem both with and without closing these applications before going into standby mode. Furthermore, I have OTFM (third-party file manager) installed, and have used it to set the suspend time to 20 minutes and to disable the shutdown time. I'm suspicious that this app may be the cause of the problem, but the bug doesn't go away if I go to the normal M92 power settings and select one of the predefined options. |

By the way, I thought that after installing OTFM I could manage the hidden partition from my PC, this can't be done by any means, right? I'd still like to know the answer to this. Last edited by Mhaly; 02-19-2013 at 07:20 PM. |

Hello guys,
I updated the firmware to version 1.8.1 20121113 and I also installed the aggiornarmento PDF reader, before the following UPD. 12.12.12 and after the UPD version 2.1.2013, as indicated by the first post of Booxtor. How do I see the installed version of the pdf reader? Now I want to install English-Italian translator, where can I find the link? |
