I'm guessing you've jailbroken your PW, which has somehow broken its support for sideloaded files. I'm not going to be able to help you with that. All I can tell you is that sending MOBI/AZW3 files to a non jail-broken PW with calibre works.

As is noted in the conversion dialog under MOBI Output various kindle devices have trouble with new or both mobi filetypes, it is preferable to use azw3 for new mobi.
